SHARE our tiny vintage Venice Beach home 2 blks. from beach & canal adjacent. The room is 12x9 feet and looks out to a street a very popular tourist destination so car/people noise is audible. There is a tiny bathroom and it is shared.
It is small but sweet. This is a place for quiet visitors but make yourself at home. We don't have access to the backyard. The available room is 12 feet long by 9 feet wide. There is a double bed, desk, drawers and closet to store clothes. Our home is carpeted with aging carpet, not our choice, every attempt is made to clean it but we are not allowed to replace it :). The French door windows open up to allow the sea breeze in, at night if the surf is big the waves can be heard. The tiny bathroom is next door to the room. Our building is from the 1930's so the water pressure is not the best but short showers are encouraged as Southern California is experiencing a severe drought. The living space is open and flows into the kitchen. We work from home at the table in the living area. There is a table with chairs in the kitchen to which to eat. We don't mind working while guests cook or relax in the living room. We raised kids here so the noise won't bother us. We have two cats one is a championship mouser so he will bring a mouse home but usually we have disposed of it before guests are up.
We must be there for your arrival. Check-in time is from 1 pm-8 pm.

We'll be around, we work from home and are happy to help with anything you need, sometimes we are on deadline or on a call and can't help immediately but that rarely happens. We provide plenty of towels and you can always help yourself to more in the bathroom. There are hooks on the bedroom door to hang towels if you wish. After visiting the beach to prevent a sandy and wet bed rinse and dry off at the beach showers and then at home. Guests often realize how important this is after they sit down on the bed with wet and sandy clothes. Later when going to bed they discover that the bed is wet and sandy and ask for new sheets.
Our place is tiny but the guest room is very private and there is a key to lock it if you wish. Because our home was built in the 1930's the bathroom is tiny and the water pressure is low flow.
This is Venice Beach a very urban and popular tourist destination, street noise is always audible especially in the summer and in the evenings when the bars let out.
Our kitchen is your kitchen. We try to keep our rate low by providing what airbnb guests have most requested and eliminate items that were costly and underused. Self-serve breakfast (or breakfast for dinner or snack :) is always available. A Keurig coffee maker on the kitchen counter is self-serve, grab a coffee cup from the cabinet above the bread box, turn on the coffee maker, pop in a coffee pod found in the bread box, and if you like add some milk from the fridge. If you love coffee you may run out of water, pop the water container off the back of the coffee maker, fill it up and you're good to go. Hot and cold filtered water is next to the kitchen door, and milk is in the refrigerator. There are always 1-2 types of bread on the counter, peanut butter in the corner cabinet to the right of the sink, and butter and preserves in the refrigerator. Feel free to use the dishes and cups in the cabinet above the counter. Pots and pans are stored inside the stove. The stove must be lit before using. We always make sure that there is at least half a shelf in the fridge for guest's items.
It's a quiet place --no smoking or parties.
