NOTE: This is a test listing, not yet ready. When it is, you may contact me. I still live here. Preparing this room to be sublet when I move. Thanks.
IDEAL FOR WRITING RETREAT
With a single bed and minimalist furniture (floor rug seasonally added, small tables, etc. can be provided), this has been my 'Writing Room' for several years now.
Large windows face a garden.
The house is in the north of Karachi. Best means of access is hired white taxi ('white cab') from airport.
This is a place that is best for one who may want a quite hideout for a few days.
Rickshaws and taxis can be fetched at a 5 minutes' walk. They can take you to the shopping district a kilometer away. Here you will find major international food franchises as well a 'food street' with local offerings. You can shop for clothing and just about any utility.
The neighborhood is peaceful, and there is a little park a minute's walk away. You are free to sit in the garden and do your writing.
You can fetch lunch and dinner from the outside or order in. For breakfast, help yourself to the kitchen.
It's a place for a quiet person. You can win extra points by lending my mother a hand in the garden, and lose points by giving her any suggestions on how to change things. (I.e. if you want to help with something, don't ask -- just go ahead and do it.) ;)
No damage to the walls, please!
If you are feeling idle, you are invited to be handy. We are a family that likes to work with hands. Just know that my father doesn't understand a thing about tools or electricity. ;)
No guests over, please. If you wish to meet someone, plenty of malls and restaurants about a kilometer away to arrange the meeting. Thanks.

I am a writer, artist, and nature enthusiast from Pakistan. My real name is Ramla. After spending some chaotically active years active on social networks, I now enjoy a more quiet, feet-on-the-ground lifestyle -- hence the name Barefoot Ra Ra.
Habits: I do not drink. I am likely to break into song, dance, or animal mimicking. I also enjoy long periods of quiet, especially when I'm writing, which I do daily.
Life: In Karachi, Pakistan, I have done much community work including setting up a large local kitchen gardeners' network (I'm hardly a gardener myself, btw!), setting up Oneness Breakfast (a conversation/community building/peacemaking circle) and other such initiatives. I (can) teach a very lively form of meditation, and other such interesting arts of life.
UPDATE: I now have a little girl -- a child of my own! I travel with her.
