Our small but comfortable 1 bedroom cottage is situated at the edge of a village. It has spectacular views across the valley and is in easy reach of interesting places to visit such as Chatsworth House, Alton Towers and the Peak District.
Situated on the edge of a village, at the end of a private lane you will find your holiday retreat. On the ground floor is the kitchen, a double bedroom and the bathroom. Up the stairs is the living room with views over the valley. The Wolery has all the modern conveniences that you need for a relaxing holiday.
There is an enclosed garden with parking, lawn and seating areas. There are walks of varying distances from the front door, for you to enjoy, taking you down quiet country lanes, across open field or through woodland. There is now secure storage for bicycles, so you can bring your own bikes, however we are able to offer the use of bicycles to guests, (to use at your own risk) and can suggest some good cycling in the area.

Several historical houses are located nearby and well worth a visit. The Churnet Vallet Railway is in the next village and seeing the steam train is marvellous. There are good cycling routes in the nearby Peak District and also closer to home along the canal in the next village which can be reached along quiet country lanes. The Wolery can provide bikes (ridden at your own risk) and secure storage should you wish to bring your own bikes.

Please leave the cottage as you find it.
Above all please enjoy your stay, and the peace, quiet and views
Notes for pet owners
Pets are welcome at no extra charge because I expect owners to clean up outside and inside using the vacuum cleaner etc.....however if owners don't want to clean up after their dogs then there will be a charge. Also pets are not allowed in to bedroom or on the furniture and to be kept under control.
Sorry to sound stern just getting a bit fed up of being taken for granted!
Moved to the village 22 years ago with husband and children, but have only lived in this new house with The Wolery since August 2014, so it is a new venture for me. I love the area, we have the best of both worlds here, the moorlands and the peaks! I love walking and looking after our dog, horses and the garden.
