A spacious 2 room apartment in the city center in a perfect location.
Welcome to The Birdhouse, a bright and spacious place located in a green and peaceful area of Kraków.
With two balconies and a stunning view over one of the city's most revered areas, it is the perfect place for a relaxing stay. At the same time, the Main Square, Wawel Castle and the National Museum are all no more than a 10 minute walk away!
The apartment comprises two rooms, a separate, spacious kitchen, and is located on the second floor.
A double bed and a sofa bed in the Big Room make the place ideal for 4 people - however, should the need arise, there is also a fold out sofa for 1 more person (more comfortable than it sounds trust me). Let me know if you want to make a reservation for more than 4. The bedroom has a double bed and a large wardrobe.
The Big Room has a sofa bed for 2 people. The room can be used as a common area or working area with a television set, desk and sitting area. It doesn't have a door but there is a curtain above the entrance.
Within a short walking distance you'll find a pharmacy and hospital, grocery stores, cafes, restaurants, bakeries, thrift shops, bookshops and churches. A few of the town's most celebrated museums are no more than a 5 minute walk away: the National Museum, Stained Glass Museum and Numismatics Museum, as are the Cracow Philharmonic and Bagatela Theater.
I will also provide you with a handy guide of the city's best spots, and a custom-made one depending on your interests, should you request one.
Please read the Getting Around section to find out how you can get to the apartment from the airport and train station.

Let me know when you arrive and if your journey is delayed. Check-in and check-out is between midday and 9 pm (other times might be also good, as I do freelance work). I am happy to interact with my guests as much as they wish to!
The closes SHOP is on the corner of Retoryka and Smoleńsk (you can see it from the balcony to your left) - it's open 9 to 5 pm on weekdays and 10-1 pm on Saturday (they don't have cigarettes or alcohol there though). The nearest 24-hour shop is Jubilat on the corner of Al. Krasińskiego and Zwierzyniecka (5 min walk). You can find OFF-LICENSE shops on Zwierzyniecka and Piłsudskiego. There's a lot of them in the centre so they're not hard to find.
Cigarettes in Poland cost 3-4 Euro (this is probably the question I get asked the most ;)
TAP WATER in Poland is safe to drink. If you're not used to drinking tap water or you just don't like the taste, boil it first.
Feel free to rearrange the furniture if you want to.
I'm in the process of doing some minor repair work, redecorating and moving furniture around, so the apartment might not look exactly like it does in the photos, but I want to keep improving to find what works best for my guests. I want my guests to feel at home, so don't hesitate to ask me anything.
(My friend Zosia lives next door, so if there is an issue you need solved ASAP and I'm not available for any reason, she will help you out.)
Smokers are welcome, but try to open the window when you smoke.
I'm okay with animals, just let me know in advance.
Try to keep noise to a minimum (especially when returning late at night!) and please my friends be respectful of the neighbours, as a lot of them are elderly people. This doesn't mean you can't make a single noise when you're here, just please refrain from loud singing, shouting or playing loud music.
Most importantly, make sure the door is securely locked, even after entering the apartment, since the door has a mind of its own. Also, please don't slam the door.
Don't leave food cooking unattended, because fire, duh.
Breakages are to be paid for, and there are to be no extra guests other than those booked to occupy or visit the flat.
If there is any issue with the apartment that is of concern to you - if you're having trouble operating home equipment, something isn't working or up to your standards - please let me know so I can address the issue as soon as I can.
Enjoy your stay!
Hi! I'm Mary and I've been living in Kraków for 5 years now. Before that, I've lived in Wrocław and Cieszyn. Me and my boyfriend have been using Airb'n'b for the past few years and now we've decided to give it a go as hosts. It's an exciting adventure for the both of us!
I work from home as a translator & copywriter, and Michał is a construction engineer & musician in a rock band.
I love words, movies, live music and my two cats.
