Charming historic 1938 bungalow creek view, secluded, quiet, private, tucked away yet convenient to SoCo attractions. 3 block walk to Congress Ave. Relax on creekside deck overlooking garden. Travis Heights is one of the finest downtown neighborhoods
The Creekhouse is like a treehouse-- you are perched above the creek and into the trees for a delightful and magical experience. The limestone that the structure is made of is rusticated on the face and full of tiny fossils. This is a true "Old Austin" property and the owner, myself, who lives in the front house (The Cottage) has collected charming historical treasures throughout the years.
Guests will have The Creekhouse entirely to themselves with maximum privacy. There is a washer and dryer downstairs in the lower level bays. There is one parking space on the street and one in the driveway.

Most of the time I will be present, unless I am out of town. I will have a designated contact person when I am out of town. Unless there is an "issue," guests are left completely to themselves. On the other hand, I am always interested in meeting new friends!
We are a close-knit neighborhood where everyone knows each other, if not by name, at least by sight. Especially if you are a walker in the park or have a dog you take out, you get to know everyone.
No cigarette smoking, please. Well behaved dogs are ok, but there is no fence and you will have to keep them on leash if you walk them in the neighborhood or in the park. Guests are expected to be considerate of the neighbors. No loud, late parties, please. You can stay up late with a few friends and enjoy the deck, though!!

Long-time Austinite. Knew Austin the the 60s. Active in history organizations. Love books. Have many family and personal treasures scattered about. Inveterate collector of fascinating ideas and experiences. A "dabbler" at heart, so have done many things in my lifetime. This is a Christmas photo of myself and my beloved Jack Russell Terrier, "Captain Jack," named for Captain Jack Hays, a famous Texas Ranger from the 1840s.
