Margjen likes to think of her guests as her friends and she treats you like that right from the moment you meet her. She is a great communicator, and goes beyond what is required to make your stay memorable. On arrival in Weesp we were meet at the train station by Margjen and she drove us around Weesp town a couple of times so we would get our bearings. Within minutes of being shown our accommodation and the guided tour of the property, Margjen was offering us a cappuccino, suggesting places to go and see, restaurants to dine at, giving us brochures, Wifi password and even looking for English books for my husband to read. The accommodation is very comfortable and by the time we were too leave after 5 days, I had really begun to feel at home. The water front setting offers plenty to look at, rowers, passing boats, fisherman and even swimmers. Every thing you would require in a kitchen is there and if it is not, Margjen would get it for you. She is an extremely generous woman who loves her home and her guests. On a couple of occasions Margjen had people over to the house for dinner and she made a special effort to keep some desserts for us, one of which was cooked by the best Italian chef in the Netherlands. The only downside according to my husband is there was no television, but to most people that is not an issue as they have computers.
Weesp is a beautiful town, not too far from the craziness of Amsterdam and still easy to reach everywhere. We purchased 3 day Amsterdam and region travel cards to cover our trip and this allowed us to travel on trains, trams, metro and businesses over a large area. Margjen has plenty of ideas of what you can see and do and I hope I have left her with some ideas for people who love wildlife and nature because there is plenty of it and you don't have to travel far to see it. I highly recommend staying with Margjen. You will not be disappointed and from the moment you meet Margjen you will feel like a part of her home is yours. Having the use of Margjens bicycles made our trip all that much easier. We were able to use them for our entire stay. While the town centre is less than 2 kms away, it is much quicker on a bike than it is by foot but either way you do it, the road to town is a very pretty one.
Don'r hesitate, if you are slightly tempted to make a booking with Margjen, hesitate no longer. You will not regret it.
