Owners were very friendly and it's hard to beat a chalet with air conditioning right on the beach. Only big complaint was that the wifi wasn't working while we were there. When you're on a tropical island, though, you're not planning on spending much time online, so it wasn't a huge deal. The place was also a little run down and lots of the hammocks were in rough shape, but the room was clean, comfortable, and affordable. There are also several other places nearby that looked a little nicer from the outside, but the convenience of being able to book through AirBnB was a big advantage for the Coral Reef. One thing to note for people planning a visit to Tioman in the next year or two is that there's a lot of construction going on in Tekek right now. It's not disruptive, but it does mean the village isn't the nicest place to stay at the moment. If I went back to Tioman I would probably try to stay at a place in Juara on the other side of the island which was prettier and a little more isolated. Overall, though, we were extremely happy with our stay.
