Large comfortable bed. Western style bathroom w/bathtub & shower. The room has AC, desk, closet & shelf. In a quiet apartment with a large living room/dining room & kitchen, washer, 100M internet, & large flat screen TV & 2 friendly cute kitties.
We're in a quiet area on a small street while still being reasonably close to the downtown areas which are a quick taxi ride away. There is a nice view of a park and a small mountain (more of a hill) out the window. The room is comfortable with an air conditioner, a large bed, desk, and a little closet. It's a nicely decorated, comfortable and useful space.
I have a couple of guide books for Taiwan that you're welcome to use, please just remember to return them and I can help you get a transit card if you need. We know where and how to get most things you might need, just ask and we'll help you find metro cards, sim cards for your phone or whatever else you're looking for in town.
The living room has a very comfortable folding couch for extra guests, and of course we have additional bedding. We also have a single sized air mattress. It's not perfect but will do in a pinch. (I've added this information since I was travelling and had a trouble finding a place for 3 people.)
Guests have access to their room, a large bathroom with bathtub and shower (shared with one person extremely tidy person). The living room and dining room, the large screen tv in the living room, cable, high-speed wireless internet, washing machine, and if you wish to cook, the kitchen and we have a shelf in the fridge empty for you. We also have a water machine, (think office cooler) that you're welcome to use, it has cold, room temperature and hot water.
Please do not enter our bedrooms without asking, as we wouldn't enter yours :).

I work and Matt is studying. We're friendly people, but have our own lives. If we're free we're usually up for a drink, chat, or meal if you'd like. We're also happy to chat or give you tips about the city and area if we're around. Interaction is kinda up to you, we're around if you want, but we'll leave you be if you want your space.
We have two friendly kitties, they don't scratch or bite, and aren't allowed to go into the guest room (though they are cats so not so much with the rule following) You're welcome to play with them, or ignore them, up to you. We have a maid come to the house every two weeks, and we generally keep the place pretty clean, we hope guests will respect that and do the same.
There is a transit card (actually you can use it for the mrt, buses, 711, taxi's and some shops), available to use for the room, you just need to pay 100nt deposit for the card.
If you'd like a phone sym card, I can arrange one, but you'd need to let me know in advance and pay a 300nt deposit, plus credit for the phone card.
If you don't use the AC too much we can give you a discount on the room, depending on how little you use the AC. For example if you stay a month and only use the AC when sleeping we'd discount 1000nt, if you only used it minimally, anoth(PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) depending.
If you use the Air conditioner wastefully (like leaving it on when you're not in) there will be a fine.
-Please remember to keep both the balcony doors closed at all times, to prevent kitties plunging to their deaths.
-Please don't eat our food, or take things without asking.
-Keep the common areas clean, and wash your own dishes right away please.
-Please don't leave AC on when you're not in the room, electricity is very expensive here.
-Don't hesitate to ask if you need help or have a question!
I'm Canadian, from a small town in the North :) But I've lived abroad for most of my adult life, mostly in Asia but also in Brazil and France.
I'm pretty easy going and like to meet new people. I'm a little shy when speaking other languages (not English of course), but overall very outgoing. English is my first language (and my profession, I teach English) and while I have technically studied many languages I can only claim a passable proficiency in two, Mandarin Chinese and French, and let's be honest my French isn't very good :P and I can't read or write Chinese.
I've been hosting for a little while now and so far it's been really great! I've met some really amazing and interesting people. I've also done some traveling this year using airbnb which has given me some great insight for hosting!
