For my first trip to São Paulo, I stayed at Dinah's place. It's a completely separate structure behind the main house. It's very airy, with high concrete ceilings, plenty of windows (with nice big shades for privacy), cool smooth concrete flooring. It's has a modern, cozy feel.
The kitchen has a big sink, toaster oven, microwave, tons of utensils, an electric cooking range and two small refrigerators. Everything you'd need to cook up meals -- which I did. There are a couple of grocery stores within walking distance.
The bathroom has a nice shower with large showerhead, an endless supply of hot water (on demand water heater). Big vanity mirror with modern sink. Large wardrobe to hang up your shirts, organize the rest of your clothes. Just outside of the house is a laundry room, with a large capacity washer (which I used) and a clothes drying rack just outside the front door. Very very handy if you're staying for an extended period.
I stayed at Dinah's place for two weeks. It's a great location with plenty of places to walk to nearby for food and other supplies, and if you didn't know this, Uber and taxies are bountiful. An Über-X was never more than 3 minutes away, day or night.
I worked a lot while I was there. So WiFi was an absolute necessity. They have a 30 Mbps package, so it was very fast! When I ran into connectivity issues, Dinah's sons, who were always available by (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN), contacted the web company and had them bring a new modem! That's how attentive they were.
There's a digital cable TV box with a lot of channels, and a DVD player. There's an LCD HDTV that I used as a second monitor (HDMI) which was extremely helpful for work.
There are two twin beds that can either be joined as a huge king or separated. Very comfortable and cozy. Slept like a baby.
Outside the front door is your own table with two chairs. This seating area is covered above from the apartment -- so even when it rained, I was able to work outside on my laptop.
I felt completely safe in this neighborhood. The property itself is completed walled/gated.
I will have many trips to Brazil over the next year. Dinah's place was so amazing that part of me wants to keep this place a secret. But that wouldn't be fair to Dinah, or to you. This home is truly a gem.
