Our turn-of-the-century house is located in the most artsy and lively part of Louisville in the heart of the Highlands. It is ideal for a family with children or for a group of adults who want to enjoy the race tracks and relax in a nice, cosy place.
Ideally situated to experience the horse race tracks, as Eastern Parkway will take you straight to Churchill Downs in less than 15 minutes, it is also perfectly located to enjoy the excellent bar and restaurant scene of Bardstown Road. And if you are nature lovers, Olmstead’s Cherokee Park is literally steps away.
Our house is set up to host a group of 8-10 people very comfortably. This is an ideal house for a family with children who want to come back from the tracks and relax in a cosy, children-friendly place, or for a group of adults who want to fully enjoy the party scene during Oaks weekend (the Barnstable Brown Gala on Spring Drive is within walking distance).
My husband and I are both university professors: you’ll find more books than luxury items in our home. Our house is clean, cosy and comfortable and we are serious, very reliable people. We love our place and we like the idea of sharing it with people like us.
The house has a spacious and bright kitchen with state-of-the-art appliances opening to a lovely patio and a shady backyard with a wooden playground for children. It is so nice to have breakfast or happy hour on the patio which is equipped with a gas grill, a round table and an umbrella.
The downstairs is full of light and has an open space between the living room and the dining room (which sits comfortably 8 people) with piano and fire-place and half a bath.
The bedrooms are all nice and airy. The kids’ rooms have 2 standard twin beds. The master bedroom has a king size bed, the other two beds are queen size. There are 2 full bathrooms, each with jacuzzi tub and shower.
The laundry room is in the basement.
Parking on the street is free.
