Although Mari had provided us with the GPS coordinates of our rental and I had gotten directions from a map website, my husband and I, after a very long day of traveling from the States, got quite lost driving from the Santiago airport. However, Mari and her lovely adult daughter came to our rescue, meeting us and guiding us to what turned out to be their home. Our rental, the "entire home/apt", was actually the ground floor, and the family lived above, on the first floor. We had not expected to be sharing space as it was not described quite that way in the listing, but it turned out to be fine. If we had questions or a problem, either Mari or one of her daughters was on premises to help us.
The neighborhood was as I had expected, a village (as described), and it was quite lovely. Mari recommended a nearby restaurant and grocery store, but more such recommendations (such as local tapas bars, parks, etc.) would have been useful, given the fact that we were staying for 2 weeks. We could have asked for more information, but we hated to keep bothering them. When we did ask for anything (such as to have the heat turned on), they were very helpful and always friendly. The apartment itself was nicely furnished and supplied with most necessary items, although we did need to buy a few things for the kitchen to make our stay more comfortable.
We could not have had more accommodating or friendly hosts, and we really enjoyed our time in Teo. Perhaps our feeling that we were intruding on the family's privacy was simply a result of our "American-ness" and the expectation that we had when we booked that we would have an "entire home/apt" to ourselves.
