The perception of noise is obviously related to the habits and expectations of everyone. "La Casina" is a studio apartment on the ground floor, located in the heart of the historic center of Catania and Catania is pittoresque but messy city. People normally do not speak but shout, children playing and craftsmen working in the street. From the open houses’ windows come out the smell of good food cooked, the sound of music on the stereo, the cries of children. The ladies speak and arguing each other from one balcony to another and if there are important news in the neighborhood no (Hidden by Airbnb) or (Hidden by Airbnb) work better than the tom-tom of the voices, whispers and gossips. The activity of the Etna turns on strong passions and makes contradictions stronger, but also makes people generous and sincere. This is the soul of Catania and the Casina is part of this soul. And that's what travelers appreciate.
Regarding the “sewer smell”, it is the first time this issue has been raised, but it is also the first time that I have always seen the apartment’s windows closed from morning till night for 28 days(I live in the same street). Sometimes it happens anywhere in Catania, depending on the conditions of the weather because of the ancient sewer system but when apartments are kept ventilated is not an issue.
