Villa Verdad is a spectacular lake-front, 2 bed-home (sleeps 6) in Santa Cruz on a property called Sharyanka. This cozy home rental on the quiet bay of Paxanax, Lake Atitlan has spectacular views of the lake & volcanoes!
It is one of the most popular areas on Lake Atitlan because of its views and tranquility. The property also has a private dock, sauna and meditation pagoda.
A beautiful and unusually designed, 2-level, 2 bedroom house with colourful, tropical gardens rolling down to a private dock on the Bay of Paxanax, Santa Cruz, Lake Atitlan.
It has a wonderful, wide, covered front veranda, which is just perfect to watch the sunset with a cocktail from the resident hammock!
The house is entered from the veranda through French doors in to a large, airy, open-plan kitchen-dining-living area.
The living area has an ornate and unique fireplace and large Turkish day bed that doubles as a 3rd bed. The kitchen is well-equipped and has a separate door leading to the side of the house where the sauna is and also the path to the back of the house, the Meditation Pagoda and three rustic, cozy rental casitas.
At the back of the main room is the 2nd bedroom with large cupboard space and the large bathroom, with gorgeous and unusual stone bath and inside/outside shower.
Up a spiral wooden staircase is a balcony area for an office/studio and the Master Bedroom off to the side. Ribbon windows run the full length of this room providing unprecedented views of the Lake and volcanoes!
The house shares a private dock, just perfect for lazing in the sun and taking a cool morning dip before the afternoon, Xocomil, wind arrives. Also shared is the sauna (which residents in Villa Verdad have priority over) and the Meditation Pagoda.
There is a very helpful and amiable guardian on premises Mon-Sat, Pascual, who can help you with all your daily needs and for when you need more drinking water or gas.
Villa Verdad is perfect vacation rental for a family with older children, or a group who do not mind rustic, but comfortable accommodation, as this 2 bedroom house also has 3 smaller casitas/houses for rent behind it.

I'm from the UK, but live in Guatemala now with my El Salvadorian partner/boyfriend. I have lived in various parts of Guatemala on and off for nearly 20 years, but permanently in Panajachel, Lake Atitlan for over 8 years.
I have been lucky enough to have travelled all over the world on a shoe string, but it was to Guatemala that I kept on being pulled back to, like a magnet! It is now my home.
I love to be able to share the wonders of this amazingly varied and fascinating country with others.
Be warned, once you come, you may never leave!
