This is the lucky room...you get to stay when we are between permanent housemates, in this extraordinary, creative household. Its got western looks, a Japanese spirit, and its only 10 minutes bus and walk to Central Station.
This home is for people who are busy changing the world, or at least their part of it, and need a leafy green re-charge, right here.
The house has an airy, cathedral-ceilinged dining and lounge room, a ballroom really, surrounded by forest-like green.
Your room is fully furnished, with a queen size bed nicknamed the Cloudbed by anyone who has ever laid on it. The linen is also premium quality. There is a view of the Japanese edible courtyard garden,
The container garden at the front veranda makes a cozy breakfast spot, or out the back where you can watch the chickens who laid your breakfast egg.
Feel free to use the kitchen for your breakfasts, we will keep a spot for your milk etc, in the fridge.
Use of the rest of the house is by arrangement.
Check in is from 4pm.
Earlier check-ins are usually possible, just ask and we will arrange something.

I choose guests who I admire and enjoy, so our interactions are meaningful and fun.
I work from home so during the day this house becomes my home office.
I also go traveling overseas regularly.
My other guests are carefully chosen by me for their lovely, creative character, and are a joy to live with, even if you hardly see each other.
I aim to make this house Five-Star value. The room is not huge, and the bathroom is shared, but its the people that you will meet and interact with that make a stay here extraordinary. If you look at the profiles of my past guests, you will notice they are all rather wonderful. I prefer to leave rooms empty otherwise. "You are the average of the 5 people you spend the most time with". If you are here, you are already an honoured guest.
A great guest will:
All my guests are great.
They are mindful of their impact on others, and its always good.
Don't forget keep sounds to a low-volume after 11pm.

I'm a permaculture designer and Illustrator, with a serious commitment to making my world luscious. So far, so good, thanks to the excellent people who come and stay in my house, and who let me into theirs, long before AirB&B.
I've living and working part of each year in Australia, part in Tokyo, and little working trips all over the place.
I write a Magazine column in Japanese, 'Cecilia's Permacutlure Slow Life'. Its about creative ways to de-trap your life of wasted time, energy and affection, freeing you up to do the good work you were put on this world to do.
For 9 years Ive run a share-house for creative people - you can read about it on my Blog Balcony Garden dreaming
My hobbies are Sado (Japanese tea eremony), balcony gardening, fancy dress parties, and drawing illustrations of the quirky world I would like to live in, and often actually do. These are also my jobs.
Ive been a WWOOF host and traveler for many years (willing workers on organic farms). Even when my farm was just a balcony garden.
I don't have a life motto exactly, but when thing go wrong, I ask myself 'Whiner or designer?', and that gets me positive and resourceful, finding a way to make things better.
If things go wrong for you I won't say it though. I'll just help where I can xx
