New en-suite bathroom for guests only! Near Hackney Central station, this quiet, unique space is great for both romance and travel adventures.
Have a cool yet peaceful stay in this unique, beautiful building at the heart of one of London's trendiest neighbourhoods!
I have a lovely room for non-smoking guests in my flat in an Art Deco 1920s building in trendy Hackney, Zone 2.
The beautiful, unique building really is an oasis of calm within the excitement and bustle of the area, which is nearest to Hackney Central tube station on the orange Overground line.
Easy to get into town on public transport, there's also one car parking space under the building if you need it.
The king-sized bed has an organic mattress and the bed's wooden frame is from certified sustainable sources.
You have a lovely ensuite bathroom all to yourselves, and you're welcome to use the kitchen to make your own drinks and snacks.
As well as your bedroom and ensuite bathroom of course, guests have access to the laundry facilities plus the courtyard garden, and the garage if you need it. You can use the kitchen to make drinks and snacks (although we're not expecting you to cook main meals please! Unless you are staying for more than a week). Please leave the sofa area for use only by your hosts, thank you! (Again, unless you are staying longer than a week - in which case you are very welcome to use the lounge area!)
You will be provided with:
- a set of keys;
- space in our fridge;
- access to my tea and coffee, other hot drinks etc;
- hair drier;
- bedding including pillows, duvet and extra blankets if required;
- space to store clothes;
- Wi fi broadband;
- use of washing machine & tumble dryer if you need it;
- use of an iron and ironing board.

I like to say hello, to find out a little about my guests, to help as much as I can! However, I work full-time, so mainly during the week I am at work.
From March 2017 my boyfriend will be living here too. He's really friendly and occasionally works from home.
Sometimes I work from home. During the summer I am often busy at weekends with work too. We go out sometimes so you may not see us in the evening! But often we have a nice quiet evening in too, so you're welcome to come say hello and have a chat :o)
There is a set of wide, fairly 'shallow' stairs beyond the entrance gate, which you will need to go up. There is no lift/elevator.
We do need to be very mindful of security, so I will talk to you about this when I hand you the keys.
More info about check-in: you must arrive before 21:00 hours please! (9pm). Do note that it can take 3 hours from Heathrow airport *landing time* to get to my door, especially if you have to wait for luggage from the hold. Give it 2-2.5 hours from Stansted *landing time* and about 2.5 hours from *landing time* from Gatwick, door-to-door. London is big! (These times are based on waiting for luggage from the hold. It will shave off at least 30 minutes if you take cabin baggage only.)
Ok, back to the main rules!
I am sharing my home with you: I live here (and from March 2017, so does my boyfriend), so we need to be considerate towards each other with noise, use of kitchen etc. :-)
I love having guests, and most guests are very considerate and totally 'get' the airbnb ethos of sharing someone's space in a low-key way. Just by being quiet when walking around the house, not letting doors slam, and not putting on the washing machine or tumble drier late at night or early in the morning, all really helps.
Non-smokers only, please.
Please be very mindful of security in the building, and kindly keep the noise down in the courtyard (the noise carries).
Please listen to my pep talk about the recycling and rubbish when you check in!
No pets allowed.
I hope you enjoy it here and find that this is a lovely place, just needs a little care & consideration for a wonderful stay! :o)
I'm a down-to-earth, friendly person who works on my own little social enterprise about cargo bikes, plus some consultancy work in the fields of transport and health. My boyfriend Noel lives with me, and we like taking walks together. I love spending time with my family, cafes and coffee, running (sometimes), singing in a choir (as much as I can), and reading novels. Recently I have traveled to Sri Lanka which was awesome. I have enjoyed making my home comfy, quirky, cute & funky - I hope! I love living in my area of Hackney and very much enjoy welcoming guests to my place to enjoy London as much as I do. I hope I can show you the fun stuff that locals find and help you soak up the atmosphere. I have travelled to a few places in my time such as Iceland, Romania, Canada, Denmark and my favourite: South of France, but really I am a home girl at heart!
