Comfortable apartment and gracious hosts! This was my first Airbnb experience and it exceeded my expectations. I stayed here with two friends over Easter weekend. We had plenty of space (huge master bed and single cot in the living room). The location was good - on the water across from the lively Trastevere neighborhood, surrounded by actual Italians instead of tourists, near cute cafes and bars but still quiet, and situated evenly between the Vatican and Colosseum (~15 minutes walking to each). The apartment itself was very genuine, featuring quaint views of the courtyard from the windows and many religious icons and relics of the hosts' travels abroad decorating the walls. We were their first guests from Airbnb (hence why they have no previous reviews, which had initially worried us), but they were so accommodating and welcoming! The property manager, Gabriele, drove us to and from the airport for half the cost of a taxi and at all hours of the day/night (our flight out of Rome was at 6:30 AM). Antonio and his wife greeted us at the apartment with a champagne toast and stock of snacks (bread, milk, juice, olives, chips, and even a traditional Easter cake). They didn’t speak English, but Gabriele did, and we communicated with him during our stay. He was always available to answer any questions we had about the apartment or Rome. I would definitely recommend staying here.
