See our website for more details: just lookup maisonsouthernfrance (with the usual dot and com), BUT all bookings must come through airbnb, since this is how they make their living. Feel free to write us with any questions. Thank you.
Access to the full house and all its great amenities. Access to free parking. And access to a charming private garden to enjoy a glass of wine or a coffee and croissant.
We help right from the start, information on flights, information on car rentals, information on all the things to do (from restaurants to castles and beyond), and we are available for any and all questions beforehand and to offer any additional help during the visit. We also have a property manager in case of emergencies. And we provide a handbook of information about the house, the village, the region.
This is an enchanting, romantic, lively village-- very friendly, lots of restaurants and shops yet easily manageable. And it is located in one of the most gorgeous river valleys in the world. There are also wonderful markets nearby, and many places to walk, bike, or canoe. Many guests have said this was the 'experience of a lifetime'. We'll be happy to help turn your visit into something very special too.
It is possible to have a wonderful visit without a car. See our web site for a review by someone who had a wonderful time sans voiture!
PLEASE NOTE: due to the complexities of cleaning and managing the house (so off the beaten path!), we cannot rent it for less than 5 days minimum. Many of our visitors have chosen to stay for as long as two weeks, and we will discount the price substantially for longer stays. Just let us know your plans. Thank you.
We will give you careful directions, from Toulouse or Paris, which will take you through some lovely countryside right to our Village. Linens and bedding are provided, as well as everything you'll need for cooking (although you'll pick up fresh food at the local markets, unless you choose to dine only at the dozen fine restaurants in town, including two which are haute cuisine). There will be plenty of information at the house to make your stay a wonderful adventure, and of course we will answer all your questions prior to your visit.
We are a family of five, with California blood but now living in Massachusetts: a psychologist father, physician mother, and three lively, lovely teenage girls (oh, yeah, and two dogs and two cats). Although schedules and costs make it hard for us to visit the French house, we renovated it with the idea of making it fun, comfortable, and exciting for a couple, or a few couples, or even a large family. It is not inexpensive (upkeep and mortgage are costly), but it is a special once-in-a-lifetime experience.
