Higher end accommodations with attention to detail. Our meticulously clean and inviting one bedroom cottage is beautifully furnished and is the perfect place for a romantic getaway or a spot to escape to and relax with family or friends. A stone lined creek flanks the cottage with seasonal flowers. A large patio offers a firepit, dry wood, hard top screened in gazebo for outdoor dining, and gas grill. We offer a seasonal red neck (stock tank) pool. A cook your own breakfast is also included!

This is where city meets country living! When you walk through the door of this little cottage, you will instantly feel the world melt away. We're not sure what it is, but there is something special about it. This cottage is about sanctuary, relaxation, and peace.

***A special note for our city friends***

Because we are in the middle of almost nowhere, you may find that cell phone coverage may vary. If you find your coverage is spotty, stepping onto the front or back porch may resolve the issue. Internet is provided by Hugh's Net. We also have Dish Network. Both services are satellite. If it is rainy or even cloudy, signals may also vary.

WHAT SETS US APART FROM EVERYONE ELSE?

When I (Jenn) decide to become a host with Airbnb, I spent a lot of time thinking about what I would want as a guest. While cleanliness was at the top of my list, I wanted so much more. I wanted a place where I felt like I was wanted, and that they cared about providing me a thoughtful experience. I wanted value too! Cool things to do, lots of perks! No, while I cannot compete with a 5-star hotel or resort, I'd sure like you to feel as if you were at one! You cannot get a better value anywhere. Honestly. Our attention to detail and guest comfort are second to none. If you are celebrating a special occasion or need help planning an itinerary, please let us know. I will be happy to provide a few decorations, fresh flowers, fresh homemade cookies, cakes or cupcakes or even a special meal. While not a professional, I am pretty darn good at baking and cake decorating. These services would be extra and paid for, in advance, through Airbnb.

COOK UP A GREAT MEAL TO SHARE WITH FAMILY OR FRIENDS!

Full size double refrigerator/freezer with filtered water and ice, microwave oven, large countertop oven (large enough to bake a cake or small chicken), two burner countertop stove, large electric skillet, non-stick griddle and all the pots, pans and baking/cooking supplies you need. In the cabinets and drawers, you will find, herbs, spices, olive oil, vegetable oil, regular and self-rising flour, regular sugar, brown sugar, several extracts (including real vanilla!), salt, baking powder, baking soda, and more! At your request, we can also provide you with a blender, crockpot, Instant Pot, or electric kettle. Out back on the patio, you will find large stainless propane grill with a burner. Propane is included. Just make sure to turn off the gas when you are finished grilling. All the grilling tools and skewers are provided and are hanging on the side of the grill.

BREAKFAST ANYONE?!

Fresh eggs from our happy chickens, pancakes, and three kinds of oatmeal are on the menu. Regular and sugar-free syrup are also provided. We use Krusteaz's pancake mix. It is so easy; you just add water! By far, it is the best mix we have ever found. In the refrigerator you will find unopened packages of cheese, real bacon bits, OJ, milk, and a stick of real butter. For the kids (or the kid in you), you will also find three flavors of syrup to add to your milk or to top your mug cakes with. A Keurig coffee maker, coffee pods, creamers, hot cocoa, and a variety of teas and local honey are also offered.

MUG CAKE STATION!

Have you ever made mug cakes? They are so quick and easy to make and even yummier to eat! If the urge to make something sweet and delicious hits you, we provide everything you need to make a huge variety of different flavored mug cakes. We selected an assortment of mixings like coconut flakes, chocolate chips, pecans, cocoa, and instant coffee (for a chocolate mocha cake), several different spices and extracts to make a unique treat. There is a cookbook to guide you, but I have found Pinterest has a great selection of cakes too. I generally make a plain white cake or a chocolate cake and then add whatever mixings I want!

AND MORE FOOD!

We have a very large seasonal garden, which provides us and our guests with a bounty of goodness. If we are in harvest mode, we encourage you to come by and ask to gather some veggies! We try to use only organic products in our garden. If you run out of eggs, or just want to experience egg gathering, you can do that too. Children and grow-ups can also help feed the chickens and cows in the morning! When our pickling cucumbers are ripe, we can set up a picnic table and teach you how to make your own refrigerator pickles.

ENTERTAINMENT

For indoor fun, we offer an extensive library of over 300 DVS's. You will also find board games, card games a deck of regular games, dominoes, puzzles, crossword and sudoku books, colored pencils, grown-up coloring books, crayons and even watercolor paints (for the adults). For younger children there are a few toys, children's coloring and activity books and children's books. There is also an electric, wall mounted, fireplace in the living room. It has realistic looking flames and may be enjoyed with or without heat. This makes a fireplace in July so much fun!

For outdoor activities, we have two regulation size corn hole games, and several other family friendly games.

During the warmer months, we offer a unique and novel way to cool off. A stock tank soaking pool aka redneck soaking pool! Check out our pictures or go online, if you are not familiar with them. It's just a nice way to cool off, relax and maybe share a drink with some friends. There is an offset umbrella to shade you or soak under the moon and stars at night and listen to the sound of trickling water from the fountain.

The patio is lit by the back porch light and a wall mounted light. For a more relaxing or romantic atmosphere, we have added quite a bit of solar lighting for a more subtle and ambient experience.

While enjoying the patio, why not sit by the firepit? We provide an endless supply of dry wood. If you plan on arriving late, and want a fire, let us know. We can have it up and ready to enjoy, the second you pull up.

Please check out our impressive list of amenities. We may be in the middle of almost nowhere, but we are civilized! Our brand-new memory foam bed will spoil you. Our 100% cotton sheets and towels will envelope you in cozy comfort.

Decor' changes with the season. We often feature original artwork from a local artist. Most of the furnishings and decor' has been sourced locally. It is our desire to highlight some of the awesome places you can shop and find cool and unique things, in and around Antlers.

We have an impressive Visitor's Guide online along with stacks of brochures and information in the cottage. You're bound to find many places to go, things to do, and places to eat. If you are thinking there is nothing to do out here...we beg to differ!

The cottage is about half way down a 1/4 mile dead end road ( It's a typical country dirt road ) with a few houses on it. There is not much traffic and it is very, very quiet. At night the stars can be stunning. When there is no wind, quite often you can hear coyote howling off in the distance. This is rural country living, without being totally cut off from the world.

Hi! Thanks for allowing us to host you!

I like to remind our guests to please add the Air app to their phone.
We send out messages and communicate through Air's messaging.

Please refer to the driving directions. Do not rely on navigation to get you here. We have had too many guests get lost and have had to go find them. Please don't worry though. It is really easy to find. It is just that GPS is great for cities but not so much for rural areas. You will receive information about 4 days prior to your arrival.

We live right next door. We try to stay home when we have guests at the cottage. We want to be available, if you need us. We usually respond to messages rather quickly. However, please allow us an hour or two to respond, if we do not respond right away. We may be out on the property and do not have a signal. Feel free to swing by too. We know we have guests, so don't feel shy, that's why we're here!

If the garden is producing, we will be happy to let you come over and pick some fresh veggies.

Meet Lucy and Fauna, our milk cows. Lucy is a very sweet momma cow. She loves to have her ears scratched. As of this date (June 29th '22), Lucy is expected to deliver her new calf any time now!!! Fauna is actually Lucy's granddaughter. Fauna was born Jan 2021. She loves to lick you. They will probably come to your back fence. Just be careful with their horns. There is not a mean bone in their bodies, but they do swing their heads around.

We also have our chickens. You are welcome to come over and feed them and gather eggs. Sometimes we have more than our fair share. You might be able to take some home with you.

Would you like an earlier check in or a later check out? If the cottage is already available, or we don't have a guest checking in on the same day as your check out, it should be fine. Please ask!!!
