None, other than to say, if you are an artist, poet or photographer and wish to sketch, paint or otherwise represent this place, we'd love to hang your work!
There are few places were you can hear complete silence or see a nighttime sky so deep black. Stay up late enough and you'll get 10 - 15 minute stretches without a sound and can get a glimpse of what agrarian life was like 217 years ago when the first settlers of this region of Maine moved here and began to build this homestead.
This is a Non-Smoking rental. However you're welcome to smoke outdoors, but please clean up after yourself.
We allow pets with an additional cleaning fee of $100/per stay, but again, please clean up after your pet.
Otherwise, the Farmhouse is a one of a kind antiquity. We've been renovating and improving it for over 10 years and trying to preserve and emphasize its historic qualities as we do. And so we hope our guests will enjoy these qualities and join us in treating it as though it were their own.
As part of this, we ask that our guests take care not to flush anything but toilet paper down the toilets, leave any food on the counters or in the refrigerator and bring trash down to the street in the barrels provided when they leave (or on Wednesday mornings during their stay).
We had a horrible burst pipe and suffered grave damages in the past so we leave the water pump circuit breaker in the off position and ask that our guests turn it on as they arrive and off as they leave.
And finally, if you wish to do any laundry, please feel free, but take care not to leave any wet towels or laundry in the washer or hamper to avoid the items getting musty.
That's about it. Otherwise the old Farmhouse is a pretty relaxed environment. It is not a high luxury place, but instead a more comfortable family style environment.
We expect our guests to have a bunch of fun.
