My small well equipped flat is in the peaceful and pretty garden behind my 100 year old Federation cottage with a view of Mt Wellington. The comfy bed will be made with good quality bed linen, extra pillows and towels are provided. The kitchenette has a microwave, 2 hotplates, 2 electric frying pans, a sandwich toaster, a regular toaster and an electric saucepan plus an exhaust fan. In the quietness and privacy of the garden you would never guess you are so close to a busy area. There is a bus stop just a few metres down the street and the local shopping centre with supermarkets, banks, post office, laundromat and all the usual shops is 3 or 4 minutes walk away and it's little more than 5 minutes to the university. A short walk can have you at the water's edge and see the majesty of the Derwent River and one of the many marinas on the river.
If you don't wish to cook there are plenty of reasonably priced eateries and take-aways just a couple of minutes down the street. Take your pick from Italian, Chinese, Japanese, Indian or Australian.
The city of Hobart is just a 10 to 15 minute walk or a quick bus trip.
Historic Battery Point and Salamanca Place are very close by and are delightful to wander around and shop or explore the lovely coffee shops. Every Saturday there is a world class market at Salamanca so I'd suggest you put that on your 'to do' list.
The flat is very clean and compact and has everything you would need. There is a double bed in a separate bedroom with plenty of storage, a small sitting room with flat screen TV, DVD player, wi-fi ,international adapters, and a well equipped small kitchenette . The bathroom has a shower,a small bath, heater, scales, fan and hairdryer.
Guests are welcome to use the outdoor setting and barbecue when the weather is suitable.Free parking is available outside on the street.

Interim cleaning can also be arranged for long bookings, however, there is a cleaning cost involved. The information in regard to weekly and monthly costs only relate to non peak periods.
I always have the basics of salt and pepper, sugar, tea, coffee, cooking oil , spices etc in the pantry.
During summer there is a barbeque available to guests and Guests are welcome to use the outside table and chairs. Guests are also welcome to use the clothes line.
I also use the back garden and ,of course, need to water the garden occasionally.
There is free parking on the street outside my place and off street parking can be easily arranged.
Guests are expected to treat the unit with respect.
Heaters and electric blankets must be turned off when the unit is unoccupied.
No smoking inside but smoking in the garden is permitted.
I am happy to discuss check in and check out times and will try and accommodate your wishes, depending on other bookings.
I am a happy , generous person and have spent my life involved in the food and media business. I love to travel and am particularly interested in Italian food. I love singing and sing alto in an ACapella choir. Reading and movies are great loves of mine and, during the winter months, I enjoy knitting by the fire which I do on a very small commercial scale.I find it to be very meditiative.
Becoming a grandmother is the best thing that has happened to me- I'm fortunate that my two grandchildren live nearby and we have a great time together, especially in the kitchen.
I am a proud Tasmanian and delight in sharing information about the treasures we have in this very picturesque island. I'm also happy to pass on info about local eateries, galleries and museums.
I enjoy meeting people and learning about the world. My unit is separate to my hundred year old Federation cottage so, if privacy is preferred, i will leave you alone but am also happy to exchange travel experiences with guests and pass on any informtion to make the stay in Australia happy and memorable.
