I am a culture vulture, for ever attending exhibitions, reading, and making music. After a career in which I scaled the heights of arts journalism, ending up as art market correspondent on the London Times, and writing the definitive biography of the great British abstract artist Ben Nicholson, I have committed myself for the past ten years mainly to bringing up my daughter, while keeping a small amount of journalism going and completing an MA in Creative Writing. The reason for joining Air is to enable us to be able to afford a wonderful holiday overseas, to Italy perhaps, where I studied as an undergraduate, or India, which I have longed to visit for decades, or the USA, where I have many friends. Hopefully anyone staying here will enjoy our lovely antique furniture, as well as our quirky individual touches, as well as feeling peaceful and secure. Another attraction, we hope, is that one of us will be staying nearby, and able to welcome you in, as well as to show you how everything works. There will be no need to figure out operating manuals or fiddle with dials! This is a friendly neighbourhood, and we hardly ever get to the end of the road without being hailed by someone we know! We would like you to feel part of our community during your stay.
