I’m surprised and disappointed to hear about the issues you had during your stay. Had I known, I'd have addressed each immediately. Here are some specifics...
There are winter-weight down comforters on each bed and an extra one plus wool blankets in the closets. Additionally, there’s an easy-to-use Nest thermostat by the front door (as described in the house manual you received) and our home heats up very quickly.
As to the interruption, I have to admit I’m surprised at your reaction as you sounded willing to help when I told you my wife’s mother died unexpectedly.
We did interrupt your Labor Day to get a suit, tie and pair of shoes (clothing for the funeral) and an item for our baby to fly back east last minute. As I said, I asked if you'd grab these so I didn't come into the house (we try to avoid this at all costs when guests stay with us). Had you said it was an inconvenience, we would have solved it another way, but you sounded willing to help at the time.
As you saw in the other reviews from our guests, I try to be extremely communicative with and respectful of my guests and reached out multiple times to make sure you were doing well. I wish you’d let me know about your concerns instead of simply saying everything was great. Clearly it wasn’t.
On the topic of your friend’s interactions with the police, I can’t comment since I have no idea what happened. I’m sure when we return from the funeral we will learn more from our neighbors.
Again, we are used to having really wonderful exchanges with our guests and this situation was quite unusual. I hope your future experiences with AirBNB are more satisfying.
