This spacious, beautifully designed villa with an outdoor swimming pool is located in the quartier Ste. Anne, just outside the historic medieval village of Entrecasteaux. It is on a private hillside with sweeping views of the surrounding countryside.

The villa has an open design with an upscale kitchen, three bedrooms en suite, a large living/dining room with fireplace and it is beautifully finished throughout. The house is fully furnished with all the modern conveniences (electric heating, electric stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, washer/dryer and a large American refrigerator with ice maker). Click here for additional pictures of the interior of the villa. The villa is on a two acre lot of flowering shrubs, cypress, pine, olive and fig trees. It is maintained to preserve the unspoiled natural beauty of its rugged environment. One can refresh and relax by the outdoor swimming pool while taking in the splendid view of the Provençal countryside and distant hills. The adjacent outdoor patio offers a perfect setting for tranquil al fresco evening meals and sunny breakfasts.

Whether you are on holiday or on sabbatical, you can enjoy privacy and inspiration in a beautiful setting with easy access to many artistic, cultural and historic sites in the Var and beyond.

Guest Reviews

We have stayed at Provence Villa many times. It is a beautiful house set in a stunning location which is secluded but not isolated. The house, especially the kitchen, is really well equipped and maintained to a high standard. The views from the terrace are breathtaking and a perfect place to eat. The pool is a good size with plenty of sun loungers and perfect for hot days. It is looked after by a gentleman called Ben who not only does a fantastic job of keeping the pool clean but has a lot of local knowledge. From the house there are plenty of walking and cycling routes if you are feeling energetic. The owner has left plenty of tourist information leaflets.
Entrecasteaux has everything for day to day needs, including a bakery, butcher, mini supermarket, a couple of restaurants and 2-3 bars all of which we can recommend. There are plenty of local wines available from the many vineyards located in or around Entrecasteaux. The village of Cotignac is about 10 minutes drive away and well worth a visit especially on market days.
Lac St Croix and Gorges du Verdon are less than an hour away with a variety of water sports available and plenty of bars and restaurants.
We have also visited Nice a couple of times which is only an hour’s drive away.
We would highly recommend this property especially if you are looking for a relaxing and quiet holiday which is the reason why we keep going back.

The Provence Villa - Entrcasteaux
We have stayed twice at this delightful villa. The first time was for 2 weeks in the summer of 2016 and then again for another 2 weeks last summer (2017). The first time was as a party of 6 adults and a baby and last year was 4 adults and a baby.
The villa is situated in its own grounds on the hillside above the very pretty village of Entrecasteaux. The approach driveway is therefore steep but perfectly ok and there is plenty of car parking available in front of the villa. The villa is spacious, airy and well equipped; just as described by the owner. There are 3 bedrooms, the master having a dressing area and an en-suite which includes both a bath and a shower, the other 2 bedrooms are both en-suite and of a good size. The double beds are comfortable. The kitchen is very ‘user friendly’ and has everything one would need. A dishwasher and washing machine are provided along with good fridge and freezer storage. The sitting room/dining area is well provided with table, seating and comfy settees. The huge picture window provides the most spectacular view towards the coast. There is good access from the 2 front bedrooms and the sitting room to the veranda and garden.
The veranda has a table and chairs and most meals are taken there. An extending canopy provides extra shade when required. A large seating area and deck surround a very good-sized pool which is kept spotlessly clean. There is no outside cooking facility which is in compliance with the Provence law in order to prevent fire. The pool has open access with an alarm and this should be noted in the case of young children. With no fence, it does make lounging around the pool easy. The south facing outside view can only be described as fabulous.
The villa is surrounded by its own extensive garden (olive trees, fig trees etc), is in a very quiet and peaceful location and is not overlooked. Walking in to Entrecasteaux is easy though with a very narrow approach road we chose not to do this with a pram and drove in instead.
The Provence Villa has provided us with 2 excellent holidays, is thoroughly recommended and we will certainly be back.

Olive and I want to thank you for the lovely time that we had at your gracious Villa en Provence. The information you provided on local attractions, and markets was invaluable, and made our stay enjoyable. You have a lovely hillside setting with a great view of the Valley and Entrecasteaux below. Our days always began with a trip to the local market, a tour of the market town, and then an afternoon car trip to one of the many local and historic attractions. A trip to several local wineries rounded out our local travels. While located in the remote mountains, it's not too far for a day trip to the Mediterranean and it's many coastal villages. We spent an outstanding day in Cannes. A day trip to the Parc nature regional du Verdon is also not to be missed.

The only regret that we had, was not taking you up on your recommendation to spend a day in the historic Roman Town of Aix - en - Provence. We'll definitely do this on our next visit to your Villa.

Margaret Connor’s “Provence Villa”
In the summer of 2017, I spent a magical week at Margaret Connor’s “Provence Villa”, a center for the film production company of the acclaimed film “Provenance”, the winner of “Best Film” at the Madrid Film Festival that same year
This villa is a splendid reflection of the owner herself and the enchanting residence for a wonderful holiday. Ms. Connor, whose origins are in the hard scrabble life of rural Ireland where she and her family tilled the soil and raised their livestock on their modest farm, brings not only her excellent taste and business acumen from her career as an American CFO, but also an encyclopedic knowledge of horticulture and an understanding of the villa’s majestic natural environment. The flowers and plants that she adorns her property with lend new meaning to a “home away from home.”
The beautiful building that is the centerpiece of the villa exceeds the modernization requirements of the most discriminating traveler without compromising the natural milieu. The villa is fully equipped with every imaginable appliance, access to a variety of TV stations, a wonderful fireplace and tasteful, understated furnishings that, like the house, are in communion with nature’s gifts
The pool and the terrace are splendid vantage points to contemplate the magnificent scenery of mountains, a valley and Entrecasteaux. while offering the opportunity to relax, reflect and inhale the utter peacefulness and tranquility of one of the world’s oases.
Nearby and in every direction there are villages and towns that include Salerne, Carces, Cotignac as well as the ancient Roman town, Aix-En-Provence. History, excellent French country cuisine and wine as well as access to the nearby coastal towns and cities are all no more than an hour away as well as often within a ten minute drive from the villa.
Finally, I expect to be returning this summer for not even the allure of Paris can keep me from Ms. Connor’s paradise.

Gdje ćete biti

Entrecasteaux, Provansa-Alpe-Azurna obala, Francuska

There are many opportunities for outdoor activities like golfing, bicycling, canoeing, hiking, or birdwatching. One can enjoy numerous weekly markets, special fairs and entertainment typical of the region in the authentic villages nearby. Shopping for daily fresh produce, breads and pastries, cheeses or pâtés at the markets or in the local shops is a fun experience.

There are several vineyards in the area to explore with opportunities to sample and buy very good Provençal wines. You can visit recognized vineyards, such as Chateau Tuerry near Villecroze, or Clos des Oupaloux in Cotignac, or enjoy very good rosés on tap at various wine cooperatives, including Entrecasteaux and Carces. Even the delectable wines of Bandol are within easy reach at the coast west of Toulon.

A wide range of good restaurants are found in the region. The world famous chef, Alain Ducasse, has two establishments in splendid settings within an hour’s drive. France’s truffle king, Clement Bruno, is located near Lourges where truffles are savored in every dish. There are also a large variety of excellent restaurants in other near-by areas such as in Tourtour, a charming mountain-top village with commanding views all the way to the Mediterranean Sea.

The Villa is within an hour's drive of Aix-en-Provence, Nice and the Côte d'Azur. While there you can walk in the steps of Cezanne at Aix, view old Nice as it was seen by Matisse, and other well known impressionists. The French Riviera beaches offer warmth and beauty while the city of St. Tropez and the casino of Monte Carlo provide a touch of exciting glamour and fashion. Not to be missed is Cannes with its famous film festival, or the perfume factories of Grasse. Provence's lavender fields, in full bloom in the month of July, are also within an hour's drive to the northwest. Longer trips can take you to historic Avignon featuring the incredible Papal Palace and the famous Saint Bénezet Bridge. Continue to Arles, the soul of Provence, and see the vistas of Van Gough where he painted his most celebrated works.

I grew up in Ireland, formal education in America, bachelors in Harvard and a master in business from the university of Chicago. Worked for multiple years in silicon valley as a finance officer. I love to travel and I love art work. I also enjoy theater, movies, and music of all sorts. While living in San Francisco, I’ve remodeled 2 houses and 1 of these houses was one of the oldest houses in San Francisco. The other house was an old victorian home to which I had an honor of remodeling.
