Peaceful home in East Balmain
The room available is in a cottage in East Balmain, a suburb on the Balmain peninsula, close to the CBD. It's a beautiful suburb with loads of parks and the house is just a couple of minutes from Sydney harbour. There are plenty of pubs, restaurants, shops and cafes very close by, as well as easy public transport to the city (bus and ferry within 5 minutes' walk).
The room contains a comfortable queen size bed, bedside tables and wardrobe, and everything that you need for a short or longer stay. You'll have your own bathroom and there is access to a laundry if needed.
The house is tastefully furnished and you're welcome to use the shared areas, including a courtyard.
The house has a really good feel to it and I'm sure you'll find it to be a relaxing sanctuary during your stay in Sydney.
I'm happy to assist with recommendations for good restaurants, day trips and of course, everything around the house.
Make yourself at home downstairs. There's the bedroom and bathroom, kitchen, dining, TV area and a courtyard. I have my own bedroom and bathroom upstairs.

I'll be happy to give you some local advice, share a meal, or get out of your way completely - whatever you prefer.
Access to shared areas, including kitchen, is welcomed during normal hours (until around 10pm). There are plenty of places for a drink / night out nearby.
If you're spending lots of time in the house, I'd appreciate it if you could take your shoes off to minimise noise.
Although the check in time is flexible, please let me know your arrival details as soon as possible so I can ensure I'll be around (or I'll make arrangements to have the key available).
Please do not smoke inside the house or in the back yard
I'll give you a set of keys so you can come and go as you need
I expect basic courtesy and respect for privacy.

I love cooking, eating, looking after my home and garden and entertaining. I used to work in finance but I've recently changed career and am now working at a non-profit organisation in public health.
I have traveled widely and appreciate good accommodation (but have also stayed in my fair share of rough places).
I like sharing my home with appreciative travelers.
