Split floor plan for couples or families - sleeps 6-8 - pets welcome. We now use Glad To Have You to provide all the necessary details for your stay!
We can’t explain why guests say they relax the minute they enter Dolphin House.
Maybe it’s because the cheerful coastal vibe reminds them that they’ve finally made their escape to the beach. Or because comfortable furnishings and sun-filled spaces make this rental truly feel like home. Or because arriving in Gulfport means entering a vibrant community with a be-who-you-are attitude.
No matter the reason, we love knowing guests can find peace at our 2BR/2BA rental in the heart of the Waterfront District. From its shaded yard to its beach chic entertaining areas, Dolphin House is the ideal landing pad for you, your closest friends or family, and even your pup. Come discover Gulfport's beaches, dining, and jam-packed lineup of events—from farmer’s markets to full-fledged celebrations.
A DAY AT DOLPHIN HOUSE
In all three bedrooms, bright color schemes and tropical décor will fill you with Floridian spirit before your feet even hit the floor. Wake up lazily in the master’s king-size bed or either of the guest room’s queens.
Refresh in either of the two full bathrooms—one designated for the master, the other shared between the two guest rooms. If you need to check in with the real world, there’s a spot for that in the office off the master.
Get the day started by whipping up something fresh. Our fully equipped galley kitchen has plenty of counter space for chopping and prepping, plus a large fridge for all your farmer’s market finds.
Take your breakfast out to the shaded back patio and have a moment to yourself beneath the yard’s tall oak tree, or settle in around the six-person dining table for coffee and conversation.
The kitchen and dining space serve as the heart of this split floor plan home—here, you’ll find the perfect balance between privacy and time together.
Two living areas, one near the two guest bedrooms and another near the master, are chockfull of breezy charm. Opt for board games in the bamboo stalk green front living area or sink into cozy sofas for movie night in the back living area. Both have their own flat-screen TVs.
WHY WE LOVE DOLPHIN HOUSE
Fun, a little bit funky, and totally inviting, Dolphin House takes a cue from Gulfport itself. And it’s no wonder: this rental is tucked in the heart of town, just a 5-minute walk from the Waterfront District.
“Bored” isn’t in Gulfport’s vocabulary. No matter when you make your way here, you’ll find some way to immerse yourself in this unique community. Like GeckoFest, an annual end-of-summer celebration full of groovy jams, quirky street performers, and costume-clad revelers. Or bi-weekly art walks, weekly farmer’s markets, and summer sock hops.
When you’re ready to take a break from downtown’s lively spirit for something a little quieter, pedal one of our complimentary bikes a half-mile to the Pinellas Bike Trail or walk a block to the dog park with your four-legged pal.
The entire house and yard.

I'm from Michigan, but I’ve lived in Texas and Arizona most of my adult life.
My interests are photography, travel, food, historical fiction.
What do I do in my spare time? I don't understand the question!?
Fun fact about me. We foster kittens until they’re ready for adoption. Our first family was 7 kittens with ringworm. This required twice-weekly visits to the shelter for lime-sulfur dips and complete cleaning of the room twice weekly. And we utterly failed as fosters! We adopted 2 of the 7!
Some of my favorite things are: Bright colors (not to be confused with shiny, pretty things), chocolate, humor, great lines, magic moments, a beautiful beach, wide-open spaces, aerial views, Flat Whites, Meet Joe Black, Outlander series, U2, Yanni, Enigma, A Tuna Christmas, Houzz, New Zealand, Florida Gulf Coast, old European cities, photography, fields of bluebonnets, Pinterest.
My full-time job is overseeing the investments and financial operations at a 48-year old family foundation based in Austin. The foundation seeks innovative projects in the area of health, education, human services and community affairs.
What is it like to have me as a host? We are prepared and want our guests to be prepared as well. Once we send arrival details guests rarely have questions, but we’re here if you need us. We have a message tree set up so that requests go to 3 phone numbers to make sure we can respond as quickly as possible to a guest’s need. We also use an app that guests can access from their phone or computer to get info about the area and the home during their stay. We try to think of everything and have our homes set up for travelers. What am I like as a traveler? I like to be on my own and don’t require much interaction although I’d be happy to meet our hosts.
Do I have a life motto? I’m a big fan of big-picture dreams but not being married to them. Things change, people change and sometimes you just need to go in a different direction. I plan when necessary but I don’t plan everything. I’m fairly prepared most of the time – I’m always looking for another way if the first way doesn’t work out. I almost always have a “plan B” in my back pocket.
We take a team approach to managing and caring for our homes. We’ve had relationships with many of our service providers/team members for YEARS. They know we don’t want our guests going without air-conditioning on the 4th of July. They know we want yards mowed on schedule. They know we want our homes clean. We know you want more than a couple of forks and some plastic glasses in the kitchen! We know you want clean, fresh linens and household equipment that works.
