Idiosyncrasies of the house: The master bathroom shower is a steam shower. It is therefore sealed when the door is closed. Leave the shower door ajar when not it use so that it can dry.
Also, leave the mechanical room door ajar. It is best for the Internet controls to get some circulation of air by having the door open.
Heat control: There are thermostats in the den, and in each bedroom. Caly can help you if you cannot find them. The studio bedroom has a thermostat that is for the gas stove heater. You may adjust the heat for your comfort.
How to use the wifi: Our password is “mountain”.
Occasionally the Internet may need to be reset if there is a power outage. Please ask Caly to reset it for you. Please only attempt to reset it yourself if you are technically savvy. The system is in our mechanical room off the guest wing hallway inside the door on the right. Service is from Century Link.
Do NOT use the alarm system during your stay.
How to use the TV: the service is from Direct TV and IS INTERNET capable. Instructions are on the shelf in the den.
How to use the sauna: Turn the timer to one hour. The temperature is already set. It takes about one hour to heat up. You can reset the timer for as long as you use the sauna. This is a dry sauna – do not put water on the heating element. Please shower before using the sauna. Do not sit directly on the wood benches – ALWAYS sit on a towel. Make certain the doors are closed when you leave the sauna. Make certain the lights are turned off inside the sauna when you are finished using it. Sauna heater will turn off automatically when the timer runs out.
How to use the kiva fireplace in the den: First, be certain that the flue is open – there is a handle on the inside of the chimney. Logs are on the north portal. Build a small fire well to the back of the kiva. Do not build a fire forward of the kiva nor too big for the kiva. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE for any smoke or fire damage.
How to use the Tulikivi: The Tulikivi is NOT for guest use. Do not use it. Period.
How to use the steam shower: The temperature is already set. Do not change it. To turn it on, push the button with the triangular arrow on it. Be careful, it is hot where the steam comes out. Do not forget to turn it OFF when you are done. The closed shower door makes a seal.
How to use the Toto washlets: we aren’t even sure yet. Instructions are in the cabinet above the toilet. Best to just not use it until we figure it out.
