Stay at this new guest house while traveling through Phnom Penh. This absolutely lovely place is owned by a Cambodian non-profit organization that runs Seametrey Children's Village, a Montessori nursery/day care center and a primary school next door. It enables children of underprivileged Cambodian families to get quality education which at the same time is strongly rooted in Khmer culture.
The school policy is social and cultural integration. Parents pay according to their income. Because of the fee structure, the school is partially self-sustainable. The guest house is a way to generate revenues to help sustain, improve and develop the school. Presently only Khmer teachers are paid. Foreign staff are unpaid volunteers. They come for short term, usually three months to a year.

Channit, my assistant and supervisor of the guesthouse is available to assist you in any matter. I would be happy to help when needed being just a phone call away.
1/ When out on an evening, do let our guard know what time you plan to come back so that he can expect you.
2/ Our address is #13A, street 830. Unfortunately there is no street sign as sometimes is the case in Cambodia. The landmarks are numerous though: Opposite the Russian embassy, Near Watt Svay Pope (Temple), the Sofitel or the Famous Aeon mall. I am from Cambodia but have lived in France, Sudan, Ivory Coast, Qatar, Belgium and London. I am a French teacher by trade but passionate in education in general. My goal in opening the guesthouse is to support the school I have founded to provide quality education to Khmer children. I have four grown up children, have been a widow for nearly three years now. My late husband, You Khin, was an artist and an architect. He designed the guesthouse you are going to stay in. That's why it has a unique feel and charm. Welcome to You Khin House!
