We had a wonderful stay in Sag Harbor. Jessica was easy to work with and answered all of my questions. The house has a lot of shells and artwork throughout. I liked the proximity to the bay beach and the other Hamptons towns. I like the layout of the house, bedrooms are comfortable and the bathrooms are as well. The deck needs a little work and the house is a little cluttered but definitely a good deal for a few days out in the Hamptons.
It is a charming house, but it is has not been properly maintained. There is an ant problem in the kitchen regardless of whether food has been left out. The deck needs to be replaced and the inside of the house really does need a good paint job. We did, however, like the artwork and all the books and magazines. The ACs in the bedrooms work fine. There is not one in the living room. We slept in the upstairs master bedroom and it was quite comfortable.
Jessica was a wonderful host and her home was beautiful! Our family had a wonderful time staying in her house, which was close to one of our favorite beaches- long beach and also close enough to the ocean beaches in Sagaponack. We were very close to town as well- which we love for shopping and restaurants! Jessica was very good at communication and her home was perfect for a beach vacation!
Jessica was a very welcoming and responsive host. We loved the location (close to beach with wonderful sunsets and to Sag Harbor, at the same time quiet and away from the Hamptons congestion and crowds). The house has a good vibe, although our overall impression was, that "some" furniture and other equipment would deserve a little investment. No air conditioning in the living room/kitchen area and the third bedroom, which is not ideal on really hot summer days.
We had positive overall experience at this lovely Sag Harbor home. The host was very responsive and accommodating throughout -- offered flexible rental dates, installed a 3rd bedroom AC unit upon request, and gave us unusual leeway re check-in/check-out times. Location of the property is stellar. On a beautiful inlet in Sag Harbor, a two minute drive to the bayside beach (and walkable), 5 mins to the town, 15-20 mins to beaches in Bridgehampton, and a 5-10 minute drive to the ferry dock that takes you to Shelter Island/North Fork. If you want flexibility to explore all corners of the Forks, this is a great spot. Property itself -- a lot to like here. The open, spacious living room area is full of light and character. Plenty of room to hang with a sizable group. Towards the end of our trip we had three couples and three children under the age of two at the house, and it never felt cramped. The bedrooms are spacious and well appointed, and now all have separately controlled AC units. Kitchen has all the necessary amenities. Outdoor space is nice -- pleasant front yard, patio, and backyard. Other good amenities as well: functional grill, beach chairs, bikes, and good wireless internet connection. Issues? Not many. Only two come to mind: 1) Cleanliness could have been a bit better -- it was clearly cleaned before we arrived, so I don't want to exaggerate this issue. But there were a couple kitchen cabinets with old food that attracted a few worms. Some cobwebs and dusty spots. Nothing dramatic, but the cleaning crew could have been more thorough 2) Family room temperature -- our first time staying in the area, so this may be the same in all properties. But there was no AC in the living/dining/kitchen area. There is one big ceiling fan above the dining table that's effective, but would be ideal if it was more centered in the room, near the living area. At night it's a non-issue cause outside temperatures are in the mid-60s and it's pleasant with the windows open. And we were fortunate to have wonderfully mild August weather, so we were generally comfortable. But I imagine if it was a hot summer -- could be a few peak hours each day where it's less comfy. Overall a great stay -- location, property, host were all positive. I'd recommend to any
