Overall - A great value for the money. It is a large apartment that has nice touches like doors separating the living area (with own bathroom) from the sleeping area. Makes for a comfortable family experience. Communication with host was poor and the location of the apartment makes arrival very difficult. Once arrived, the apartment is about 3 minutes from the main square, which is great.
Positives - This house has a large amount of square footage. The bedrooms have blackout shudders and great air conditioning. The house had extra blankets, pillows and towels. The large apartment allowed for the adults to hang out without disturbing the kids as they were in a separate part of the house separated by a door. Great for families and friends.
Negatives - We had a difficult time contacting the host. The profile of the home didn't provide an address and when I contacted the host prior to departure, he sent an address which multiple map services showed as being a block away. With the kids crying on the curb after 24 hours of travel, the host was unreachable while trying to figure out where the apartment was. After an hour, an old woman who knew the host took pity on us and called the host. The interphone on the apartment didn't list the owner's name or the apartment's name and thus even if we had the correct location, we wouldn't have been able to find the apartment. Without that woman's intervention, I'm convinced we would have stayed at a hotel that night. A pin on a map and a picture of the apartment would have helped avoid the majority of these problems.
Once in the house, there were no instructions for the wi-fi, no contact info, no instructions for the trash disposal (which is complicated), no tips on the area and no maps of the local area (one map of the surrounding area). For each issue, I had to reach out to the host, who, in his defense, was very quick at getting back to me. A set of instructions in the house or via email would help avoid these issues.
Lastly, the parking area for vehicles is 16 minutes away by foot. There is a shuttle, but it drops you off 7 minutes away. If you drive to the home to drop off luggage, it will be very difficult as anything larger than a mini cooper is a liability on the tight streets. I paid 46 euros to park the car for a five-day stay.
