This spacious and elegant cabin with 30' ceilings is ideal for fishing groups, families and everyone else who is looking for a wonderful spot in nature where they can explore & unwind. It features 2 unique sleeping lofts and one traditional bedroom, 2 baths, a large and well-appointed kitchen, big living room and a laundry/mud room. Lodging tax and pet fees aren't included; we'll advise on these fees & you can pay them while here.

Alpen Glow is a wonderful, pet-friendly cabin that has an extraordinary deck overlooking the river. The railings are see-through with stainless steel cable horizontals to optimize the view.

The huge kitchen is fully appointed. Pretty much, if it doesn't have it, you don't need it. There is a large pantry with many basics. There is dining for 8-10 (if approved; Alpen Glow is priced for up to 7 guests).

The large living room has 30-foot ceilings, an electric fireplace that provides pleasant heat and is stunning to watch, an extensive library, flat panel TV with Dish TV and DVD player with a large library of movies.

The very large leather sectional features a recliner and a comfortable hide-a-bed, so extra guests can sleep there and not on the futon in the master loft, which gives everyone more privacy.

Alpen Glow has Wi-Fi, cable TV and a (shared) land line phone with free long distance. It has all kinds of sleeping areas, including two lofts (one is an enormous master loft with a CalKing bed and in-room Jacuzzi tub. Its closets are so large, we even put a twin bed in one of them). There is one traditional bedroom with a queen bed and a twin bed and the leather sectional in the living room has a queen hide-a-bed in it as well as room for another sleeper on the other side of the couch. Yes, it is THAT big! More details below:

The lofts are open, but do not look on each other. The spacious Master Loft has a California King log bed with an organic memory foam topper, wood stove, Jacuzzi tub in room (not an outdoor hot tub; a bathing tub), queen futon and a private bath (toilet & shower; double vanity).

The River Loft log bed looks out over the river, mountains and sky. The traditional bedroom on the main floor has a handsome wrought iron queen bed with pillowtop mattress and a twin bed.

There's a mud room that's great for drying gear. The mud room has an additional pantry, washer and dryer, plus a deep sink.

Alpen Glow has an enormous deck overlooking the Trinity River, mountains and trees. Year-round, this is a favored spot for guests.

There is a shared BBQ patio on the upriver side of Alpen Glow, but the majority of the cabin focuses on the river and guests rarely see other cabins' guests unless they go out of their way.

Birdsong is so abundant, it boggles the mind. There is salmon and trout fishing at the cabin, plus a swimming hole. Wonderful ponds nearby are warmer than the river in summer, and fun for calm water swimming and playing with your dogs.

A log swing and comfy chairs are all around the 1.15 acre lot that is shared by 2 other cabins, each unique in its own right and private from each other, but close enough you can rent all for a large group, as many family reunions in summer and fishing groups in winter do.

There are no other properties on the Trinity River that equal this location. It really does have everything.

Dostupno gostima

Guests have their own salmon hole and the parking lot is large enough to accommodate several trailers with rafts and drift boats.

Highway 299 goes by up the mountain a bit and over a berm. You can hear traffic on it, but this isn't the city and it is not constant.

Very nice house about 10-15 minutes drive to Weaverville--the creek at the house is beautiful and peaceful, but if you are planning to hang out on the creek and swim you should be aware that it's not the ideal spot. There are some nice places to swim downstream a bit, and if you are willing to drive 45 minutes or so, there are some world class swimming holes on the other side of Weaverville, up some tributaries to the Trinity River.

It's the Trinity River, Dan, not a creek! We're really glad you liked Alpen Glow and agree the tree that fell over early summer is kind of in the way, but it also is a good platform to launch oneself for a cannonball. I am concocting a plan to cut the tree up and harvest the wood next week and am only waiting for my co-conspirator to join me. Between us, we'll wrangle that honker up the trail and it will provide heat for the two cabins that have wood stoves for a full winter. Oh! I'm hoping y'all went up the road toward Canyon Creek. One hole, in particular, is a summer's dream.

We had a great time staying at Heidi's place. It was everything we could have hoped for and more. My parents had never been to the Trinity River area and the location and home proved to be the perfect setting for an introduction to a truly magical location.

Very scenic and secluded. A little difficult to find. If you dont mind not having a lot of privacy from the people you are with this is a beautiful place to stay. There is only one bedroom that is enclosed and it has two beds in it. All the rest of the house is wide open.

Well, I guess it had to happen sometime, but this is the first time we've heard someone had trouble finding Alpen Glow. As stated in the directions we sent, it's 3 blocks off the main highway that runs through Trinity County; turn off the highway, go a few hundred yards, turn left and drive until the road becomes our driveway. A hundred and some feet straight in and you are there. We are thrilled you enjoyed the place and although this concern was mentioned privately, the plants growing up and over the arbors on the deck are not poison oak. They are Virginia creepers. Bright green in summer, they turn gorgeous shades of gold and orange and crimson in the fall. All of the Virginia creeper at our many locations were rooted from cuttings I took from the plant growing along the BBQ patio. I love it!

We made the best of being at the Grand Lodge during the first week of the August fires up in the surrounding area - The house is amazing, perfectly equipped for our 1 week stay. The property is gorgeous, tucked away on a private road with lots of privacy. The river is pristine and perfect for the incredibly hot summer days. We spent a few days kayaking and river rafting, taking full advantage of the trinity river and neighboring communities - the house is perfect located between Weaverville and Lewston with easy access to shopping and local touring. We will return for sure....Thank you Steph and Heidi for making our time on the river that much more amazing.... Thanks, Daniel, Julie, Mia and Emme

In life, you often get what you project, and Daniel and family are a perfect example of people who get the best because it's their mirror image. Anxiously awaiting their next visit!

The space is beautiful, and the swimming hole is great! All at an extremely reasonable price. Heidi and Steph were both very sweet and accommodating - Heidi called to check in and make sure we were settled when we got there. This is a great space for family retreats, but maybe not so much for couples - the loft is a giant open shared space, so there's not much privacy. My pooch was delighted to run around in the yard and river! Thank you for the dog towels :)

My husband, Steph Dutton, and I own and run Dunsmuir's Alpine Ski & Fish Haus and Trinity River Adventure Inn river cabins.

Steph is the only person to paddle a kayak from Victoria, B.C. Canada to Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico. I worked on tug boats before heading to Alaska to start the Sitka Sea Kayak Adventure, and that's where we met. We are both Coast Guard licensed sea captains who created and ran Sanctuary Cruises, a great whale watching company on the Monterey Bay.

We have 5 river cabins in Lewiston and Douglas City in Trinity County, as well as the Alpine Haus in Dunsmuir (Siskiyou County). We love skiing Shasta and established Dunsmuir as our own ski retreat, but find it immensely fun to visit year-round. We live right on the Trinity River and we love it, but we enjoy Dunsmuir's wonderful restaurants within walking distance (several are pet-friendly in summer on their patios!).
