Ever dreamed of living on a tree? Ever wished you could do so without giving up the luxuries of a civilized life? Well, your wish just came true!

We have designed a completely modern, yet authentic, wooden house, atop a tree. It offers you breath-taking views of the gandeur of the Himalayan mountains, the sweet sound of birds singing, fresh crisp air, and cosy interiors. It is also afixed with a completely modern bath and toilet!

We are proud to say that our Tree House cottage is only one in the whole of Himachal Pradesh.
It is ideal for honeymooning couples, as it offers cosy romantic evenings, and they can literally float on a cloud. Families with children will have unimaginable fun, as they live a top an exiting tree house. And if you're a single traveller, it the perfect place to soak in on the heavenly views and retire for the night with a book.

In ancient times, the valley was sparsely populated by nomadic hunters known as 'rakshas'. The next arrivals were the shepherds who arrived from the Kangra Valley and settled to take up agriculture. Some of the earliest inhabitants of the region are the 'naur' or 'nar', which is a caste unique to the Kullu valley. Only a few naur families are known to exist now. A naur family in the village Soyal near Haripur on the west bank of Manali was famous for the vast land they owned and their practice of having 'rakshas' as their labourers.
The British introduced apple trees and trout, which were not native to Manali flora and fauna. It is said that when apple trees were first planted the fruits were so plentiful that often branches, unable to bear the weight, would collapse. To this day, apple—along with plum and pear—remains the best source of income for the majority of its inhabitants.
Tourism in Manali received a boost after the rise of militancy in Kashmir in the late 1980s. This once quiet village was transformed into a bustling town with many hotels and restaurants.

Ambrish and his family were most accommodating during our stay in the Tree House Cottage for our Christmas holiday. Home-cooked food was tasty and we thoroughly enjoyed our nighttime campfire. The view outside our window was, of course, stunning. Two layers of blankets and a gas heater kept us warm enough at night, and the day time weather was actually quite pleasant. Perhaps we were rather lucky, but we had sunny hikes up a small mountain and down to the river. Katrain, where the cottages are located, is a very quiet stop on the road and a lovely change of pace from hectic and crowded Manali (which is itself about 45 minutes away by local bus). Note: If you are looking for a party with limitless food and night life options, this is not for you. However, if you want to relax in serenity with comfortable-but-simple home-style accommodation with a fantastic view and fresh air, then definitely make a booking. We may very well come again ourselves.

First off, the place is beautiful. Just as looks in pictures. Very clean, with one room and bathroom with adequate electrical and plumbing and other facilities like a heater. Hosts were very cordial, very welcoming and non- intrusive. Helpful in suggesting places to visit and also offered a choice for the complimentary breakfast everyday. Very good breakfast, homemade, hot and tasty, gives you a flavour of the north Indian cuisine. The area around the tree house is gorgeous too. My husband and i spent many hours on the lawn, having breakfast or coffee on the swing or just walking around. The house is about 20 km away from Manali and kullu too, but since we had a cab who stayed with us throughout the trip, we didn't face any difficulty in travelling about. Overall, wonderful experience. Definitely made our honeymoon memorable. And highly recommended to all.

Ambrish and his family were extremely welcoming and helpful during our stay. We were very happy to be located a bit before Manali as it was much more peaceful and beautiful than Manali itself which can get quite crowed. Ambrish easily helped us arrange for transportation into town as well as a driver for days where we wanted to do some sightseeing/short treks. The treehouse is clean with amazing views and lots of light and the food was amazing so the stay was easy and relaxing. Thanks Ambrish!
