Double, en-suite room in a modern, top floor flat (*no lift*). Property faces south with uninterrupted views over a park, Glasgow Harbour and beyond. Perfect West End location for sightseeing and further travel. Free residents parking. Unlimited fibre broadband, smart Hive radiator to control bedroom’s heating and a fully equipped, newly renovated kitchen. Host/owner has lived in property for over 8 years and happy to share knowledge of area. A fluffy indoor cat (Rosie) also lives here.

Prostor
The bedroom has been recently decorated and has a double bed with memory foam mattress, a large built-in wardrobe with hangers and shelving, a chest of drawers, bedside tables, small bookcase and a small console table. There is a DAB digital radio/alarm clock, small TV with free view, electric essential oil diffuser, and a Dyson air purifier/fan. Room is south-facing and offers wonderful views over Thornwood Park, Glasgow Harbour and even Whitelees wind farm on a clear day. There is an en-suite with a powerful shower, toilet and sink. Basic toiletries and cleaning products are available if required. There is also a shaving point to charge electric toothbrushes/shavers.

The kitchen has just been newly installed and is still awaiting tiling, however it is all fully functional and available for guests to use. There is a fan oven, grill, gas hob, another fridge, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, 1.5 sinks, Nespresso machine, Krups milk frother, kettle and toaster. There are also a variety of kitchen appliances (slow cooker, cafetière, blender, bread maker, air fryer, food processor, soup maker, etc.). All of the above are freely available for guests to use when required. There is also a breakfast bar and 3 stools for eating or working at.

The living room has floor to ceiling south facing windows the width of the room which offer incredible views day and night. There is a French balcony and a hanging chair to enjoy the uninterrupted views and the sun (when it shines!). There is a brand new 49” Smart TV with a Sky Q box, Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney+, Spotify, Apple TV and all the usual catch-up channels. There is also a Bose sound bar. Guests are welcome to make use of these. There is a small TV in the guests private bedroom with the basic digital and Smart TV channels/apps.

Guests have their own private double bedroom with built-in wardrobe storage and chest of drawers. There is a private en-suite bathroom with a shower, toilet and sink with shaving point.

The property has a large hallway and guests are welcome to store their bikes there. There is also a large storage cupboard off of the hallway with a fridge freezer. Guests are welcome to use this as required. The kitchen, breakfast bar area and living room are open plan and will be shared with myself.

On the property there is also another bedroom, a study/guest room and a bathroom. These are for the sole use of myself.

Tijekom boravka
I am a teacher and during term time I tend to work from home in my study most evenings. I will be available to assist guests out with these times and I am very happy to socialise and interact while we share the living room and kitchen space. I have lived in the apartment for over 8 years now so I’m happy to share tips and advice about the local area.

Ostale napomene
The apartment is located on the top floor (3rd floor) of a modern, residential building. There is NO LIFT and a number of stairs to reach the internal apartment door. External doors are secured with a key fob and internal door with a key.

There is a large, long-haired indoor cat (Rosie) who also lives in the property. She is a very fluffy, timid gentle giant and probably won’t even acknowledge any guests. Rosie spends her days following the sun around the living room and her nights on the foot of my bed. She is silent (doesn’t miaow) and fully litter-trained. Her food is kept in a corner of the living room and her litter tray is in the hallway. Despite being regularly groomed, and the floors being vacuumed daily, fluff can often be found around the property. For this reason I would strongly advise against staying here if you have any animal allergies or phobias.

There is a police station at the bottom of the road so occasionally sirens will go off at irregular hours (city living!). Due to the significant road closures in place around the area during COP26, there may be more traffic congestion and/or difficulty parking.

Thornwood is a small, quiet community situated in between Partick and Broomhill with excellent transport links to the city centre, a direct train to Edinburgh, a 5 minute drive to the Clyde Tunnel and only a 15 minute drive to the airport. Partick and Thornwood are an ideal base to explore Glasgow and beyond.

There are a number of small, independent shops, cafes, bakeries, bars, pubs and restaurants on the doorstep as well as beauty salons, hairdressers, health services, pharmacies, a Post Office, a police station, small supermarkets and thrift stores.

The property is situated right next to Thornwood Park and a 10 minute walk away from Glasgow Harbour where you can walk along the River Clyde.

It is a 20 minute walk east to Riverside Transport Museum and the Hydro, Armadillo and SECC are only 1 train stop or just a 30 minute walk. A 20 minute walk west takes you to Scotstoun Stadium (for Glasgow Warriors rugby games) and Victoria Park and Ponds. Byres Road and the Botanic Gardens are less than 10 minutes away by car or a 20 minute walk north-east. Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Kelvingrove Park are about 25 mins away on foot or 10 minutes by car.

Pozdrav, ja sam Katie, 34 godine, rođena sam i odrasla u Škotskoj. Ja sam složeni učitelj za dodatnu podršku specijaliziran za autizam. Volim putovati (otuda i učiteljsku karijeru... dobre praznike!), živjela sam/radila u Kanadi i Dubaiju te putovala Australijom, Kenijom i Europom. Već 8 godina živim u West Endu u Glasgowu i živim sam sa svojom mačkom Rosie. Imao sam nekoliko podstanara na duži rok (sada bliskih prijatelja), kao i nekoliko divnih gostiju na Airbnbu tijekom godina. Volim upoznavati nove ljude i ugošćivati prijatelje/goste pa vas molim da se ovdje osjećate kao kod kuće i uživate u svom privatnom prostoru i zajedničkom dnevnom boravku uz mene.
