The Byers' Suite is a private ADA compliant room for up to five people with an ensuite Jack and Jill bathroom in the Traveler's Rest independent hotel. It is furnished with a queen bed, a day bed, and a Murphy cabinet full bed.

The building is centrally heated and cooled. All guests have access to complimentary WiFi. Towels and linens are included. Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in an eco-friendly self-service setup. No outside towels or linens are permitted.

Prostor
Dating back to 1883, our historic building was originally home to the headquarters for A.M. Byers Wrought Iron Pipe Co. From its mills in the South Side and the surrounding region, Byers Pipe became a world-renowned wrought iron manufacturer, and built their offices to suit. We have updated and renovated our building to keep the special charm and character it has to offer. Located along the Great Allegheny Passage trail, the Traveler's Rest is in a perfect location to tour Pittsburgh.

South Side Traveler's Rest provides all guests with access to our communal kitchen and lounge. Cycling guests can take advantage of our garage, which provides secure bike parking, and stations equipped to tune/fix and wash their bikes.

The Traveler's Rest's location is only two blocks from a cycling trailhead (South Side Segment of the GAP, for those of you who are familiar) Nestled in a light industrial pocket of Pittsburgh's historical South Side, guests can peek a glimpse of the industrial history of Pittsburgh, with over 100 modern attractions within walking distance.

Inspired by their own travels, Traveler’s Rest owners, Mary Beth Karabinos and Paul Kletter, opened the Rest in Spring of 2018. They’ve hosted travelers and guests from all parts of the globe until the world shut down in 2020. In the intervening year Paul and MB found a four-legged partner: Peabody. Reinvigorated, the Rest has reopened in 2021 with a new mission to provide a warm space for private stays and intimate events.

Purchasing the building in 2014, they have transformed the historic South Side building into the charming and central spot for tourists and locals alike that it is today.
