The Pandy is an apartment in Hirwaun on the bottom edge of the Brecon Beacons near Merthyr Tydfil and Aberdare in South Wales. The position on the second floor provides a lovely view of the Brecon Beacons and it’s location gives easy access to the stunning walks and scenery the Valleys of South Wales are renowned for. The River Hepste’s Sgwd Yr Eira, part of the famous 4-Waterfalls walk near Pontneddfechan is just a few minutes away, and Pen-Y-Fan, the highest point in the UK south of Snowdon, takes just 20 minutes to reach by car. The area is hugely popular with hikers, cyclists and explorers, and there’s plenty of space in the apartment to safely store boots and equipment if needed. Hirwaun has a range of convenient local shops, takeaways, pubs and restaurants and can provide everything for those who wish to self-cater, eat out or a combination of both. Aberdare and Merthyr Tydfil are nearby, providing modern shopping, retail parks and superstores, and Neath and Swansea are also quickly accessible via the A465, known as The Heads Of The Valleys Road which is mostly a dual carriageway. The apartment provides clean open-plan living space with modern décor and furnishings. The lounge has a comfortable sofa, ideal for cosy nights in, in front of the TV. The kitchen has been wonderfully designed with a set of modern units and sleek wooden worktops, with built-in oven, hob and fridge and plenty of storage. There is a dining area with seating for up to four people; the ideal space for a romantic dinner over a bottle of wine, before retiring to the king-size bedroom. Lastly, the modern shower room serves you each morning and evening.
Outside, there is free parking available for one car in the allocated car park. Dare Valley Country Park is close by, a parkland in the lovely countryside, with marked trails and family quests, plus guided walks and organised fun days. Brecon Beacons is one of three national parks in Wales and is centred on its range of magnificent hills. It has many market towns and heritage sites amid a large protected area of gentle hills and wild moorland scenery. Nantgarw China Works & Museum is an old-school porcelain studio with an outdoor brick kiln, fine dishware displays and a quaint tearoom.
