Borgo Argenina B&B is nestled into the heart of the Chianti region, near Siena. The indipendent Villa Oliviera has been featured in an Architectural Digest, Tuscan Country Home. Originally used as a granary, we renovated it in traditional Tuscan farmhouse style: stone walls, vaulted ceilings, and Tuscan décor. The Villa has a private garden with breathtaking views of vineyards and olive groves. A wonderful breakfast is included. Cooking class upon request

Our cooking evening in the Main Villa, is an exciting experience that’s not to be missed- A true ‘Taste of Tuscany’
You, the guests, will become chefs for one special evening, as I teach you how to prepare a traditional Italian meal. We will then enjoy the feast together!
We will cook together in our spacious Tuscan kitchen, chopping vegetables, garlic and onions, making pasta and cakes around the large wooden table, mixing eggs with sugar and flour and stirring my mother’s ragù on the stove.
While preparing the meal and chatting with other fellow guests, you will also enjoy unlimited Chianti wine!
It is a delightful way to make new friends, share a great meal and have some fun.
Borgo Argenina is a tiny village of four restored villas dating back to 998 A.D. located in the heart of the Chianti Classico region.
It was November 1991, and I was living in Milan, working as a fashion designer, when I first spotted the five fairytale stone houses nestled on the rolling hillsides, birthplace of Chianti Classico wine.
Despite their disrepair and abandonment of over fifty years… for me, it was ‘love at first sight’! I knew at that moment that the dream I had carried since I was a child was finally going to come true. I knew in my heart that I would transform this broken down hamlet into Borgo Argenina, one of the most romantic, magical, and breathtaking country inns in all of Tuscany!
In March 1992 I moved to Gaiole in Chianti with my 10-year-old daughter, Fiorenza, and began the overwhelming restoration of my precious rundown village. There was no electricity, no heat, no running water, and due to the overgrowth of weeds, you could barely see what was left of the ancient buildings. During the following five years, we scraped, hammered, plastered, and painted—sometimes through the coldest of winters—to turn this neglected ruins into the most authentic and beautiful place to stay in Tuscany.
Working side-by-side with our skilled Tuscan craftsmen – Almo, and his sons- has been the most exciting experience to me. They have become my precious Tuscan family through the beautiful restoration of these ancient buildings.
One day, when we were still working on the last details, a handsome American man showed up at my door. He was Rick Steves.
A few month later, many other travel writers came to visit us and wrote about our charming and special place.
My dream finally came true when we opened the B&B in 1998: Borgo Argenina was back to life.
