Detailed information is provided to guests on the area. The key holder lives in the vicinity and is a wealth of information on the location.
Based on early 19th century OS maps we believe the cottage dates to the 18th century. The cottage was originally part of a collection of buildings which included a corn mill and kiln. The river location provided essential water and power to the mill via a mill race, which is still visible. The corn was milled here and stored in the present master bedroom. The mill itself is no longer in existence having been replaced by a farm at some point in the 19th century.
As soon as the current owners purchased Gramarye they began to restore it to its present condition. The owners have gone to great lengths to use traditional methods, local labour and sympathetic sustainable materials.
Sorry, no pets allowed and please note that the cottage is non-smoking.
Note: The access road to the cottage is very quiet but it does pass through the property. Due to the proximity of this road and the river, children should be supervised at all times whilst outdoors.
