This apartment is really in the heart of Trastevere. This was my second time in Rome and I knew I wanted to stay in Trastevere because I always ended up there in the evening on my first Rome visit. Francesco's apartment could not be better located. It is on the street where several of the locals hang out at night and is practically off of the pedestrian bridge Ponte Sisto and Piazza Trilussa, which made specifying meeting points and taxi delivery description incredibly easy and convenient. The apartment was clean and Francesco met us at the time we agreed for check in when we arrived from the airport. Those are the pros, but now the cons of this apartment; the apartment has no soap, body wash, shampoo, etc. like other airbnb apartments I've stayed in the past, although it is advertised to have these amenities. The WIFI at the apartment is terrible. It is one of the portable WIFI plugs that worked terribly. So much so that we were not able to get a decent enough connection to contact Francesco to ask why there were no towels at the apartment. We ultimately decided to buy some while we were out exploring and later when we were at a different apartment in Siena with good wifi was contacted by Francesco to be informed that not having towels was a mistake from the laundry delivery service and he offered reimbursing the cost of our towels for the inconvenience, which was appreciated. Another con was that the apartment did not have working A/C, which due to the fact you will need to close all windows to muffle the noise of the very lively street downstairs if you need to wake up early the next day, it is something to truly consider if you plan on visiting Rome on July or August when it will be much warmer than our stay in May, which was still considered warmer than usual. I did find an unassembled floor fan in one of the closets that I put together which helped tremendously. All in all it was a great stay regardless, but there are definitely things to consider and to confirm with the host if any of my cons are important to you during your stay.
