This romantic Tent Cabin, set on a 5-acre farm, is comfortable, functional and affordable. Shared Bath House and Kitchen/Living Room. If you love the feeling of camping, but want to be comfortable and hassle free, this is for you!

Have you heard the term Glamping? Glamorous + Camping = Glamping

Come Glamp on the Big Island of Hawaii.

The Tent Cabin is perfect for guests looking for a quiet, simple, soothing, unplugged, eco-experience.

The Tent Cabin is built on a platform and minimally furnished with a queen size bed.

The comfortable air mattress, nice sheets and pillows makes your simple tent cabin stay comfortable. The solar lights at night make the tent romantic and exotic. The outdoor shower is simple and sexy.

"The Hive" is an agricultural Quonset hut that has been converted into a shared living room, kitchen, yoga, meditation and event space. We have had StorySlams, Dance Parties, Kirtans and Classes in The Hive. The Hive has a propane refrigerator, two burner gas stove, double sink and all necessary cooking equipment.

The Tent Cabin and Bath House do not have electricity, there are simple solar powered lights and LED lanterns for reading and getting around at night.

The Hive has minimal electricity, enough for you to charge your phone or laptop. There is wireless internet at The Hive which is fine for checking email and updating friends about your stay, but there is not enough bandwidth for streaming music or video.

The Tent Cabin experience is perfect for you if you are looking for affordable accommodations in a natural setting. It is perfect for a personal retreat, base camp for exploring the area or romantic interlude. I like offering unique places to stay for people who are enjoying the Big Island on a budget.

I welcome women traveling alone who are looking for a safe, quite place and kama‘aina who are traveling from other islands.

The Tent Cabin is your private space. The Bath House and The Hive are shared if there are other people staying in the Polestar Cabin.

We adored our stay at Ho'ea Farms! We so appreciated the outdoor shower, breakfast in the Hive, and being walking distance from Hawi's coffee shop, Kawa bar, and farmers market. Francois was a wonderful caretaker and host while Andrea was away, everything was smooth and easy! Would love to come back.

My first AirBnB experience and it was wonderful! I loved the opportunity to get away from the noise of electricity and enjoy lantern lit nights. The farm was beautiful. We plan to make this our home away from home on our annual trip to North Koahala/Hawi. Francois the caretaker was very friendly and helpful. Thank you!

My time in Hawi was amazing. This space was exactly as described. The bed was very comfortable and the space itself was majestic. I loved The Hive and having the opportunity to cook my own meals, this saved me a ton of money on my trip. There were a few local grocery stores I was able to visit which helped stretch my budget. I recommend checking out the farmers market in town on Saturday, which will allow you to get all kinds of tasty treats. The shower is outside, the water was a little cold, but I just made sure to shower when the sun was out so it made everything equal out. Although Andrea was out of town when I arrived, she made sure to reach out to me and make sure I was able to find the farm ok and that I had everything I needed. The one time I had a question for her, she was very easy to contact and had a quick answer. This was my first Airbnb trip but if they're all like this, I'll be a happy camper for sure.

Andreas place was great. The tent was very sweet and kitchen and bathroom worked well sharing with just one other couple. Like others, we really enjoyed the outdoor shower! Andrea was very friendly and fed us dinner on a night when nothing was open for us! Hawi is a great part of the island too, perfectly located near sandy beaches :)

We loved staying in the tent cabin at Hoea Farm! The bed was very comfortable with high-quality cotton linens and plenty of space. It stayed nice and cool all day. Andrea has created a wonderful indoor/outdoor living environment to share with guests. Glamping at it's finest! We enjoyed the warm, outdoor shower after long days at the beach. The kitchen is well equipped with a great selection of tupperware & coolers for taking food to the beach. You can base a really economical trip from here. The Hive building has cozy couches and plenty of space for yoga. The library has many good books, including guidebooks for the Big Island. The entire place is non-toxic, with eco soaps and organic landscape maintenance. The wifi worked great for websites and email, but as Andrea mentions in her listing, doesn't work for streaming video. There is faster internet close by at the Kohala Coffee Shop in town. It's also wonderful staying at such an awesome eco-farm! The entire property is off-grid and solar powered. We met some of the people running the farming cooperative. It's an amazing project. They grow taro, corn, bananas, papaya and a bunch of other crops as well as raise pigs and chickens. We enjoyed visiting the pigs and feeding them our compost. The farm is in a great location, walking distance to the coffee shop and downtown Hawi. It's an easy drive to the best beaches on the island, which are some of nicest in the world. You can easily access both the wet and dry sides of the island. It's a perfect place to base a Big Island trip! If it's ever too rainy in Hawi, just drive 15 minutes south towards Kona and it's almost always sunny and warm. Things nearby we recommend: body surfing at Hapuna Beach, hiking down to Pololu Valley and beach, you can get into Muana Kea beach if you arrive before 10am, snorkel the reef and tide pools at Puako, the Hawi farmers market on Saturday, the coffee shop, ice cream and kava bar, Takata's Market in Kapaau for general groceries. Further away: The Volcano national park is only a 2.5 hour drive from Hawi and there are other great Airbnb hosts along the way. In the park, the short Kilaue Iki hike is awesome. The Kipuka Puaulu Bird Park hike is a rare look at native forests on the Big Island. The Kapoho tide pools are unreal for snorkeling! The drive over Mauna Kea was amazing. We didn't go up to the observatory but we would have with more time. Surfing: There are good breaks all over the island, many of them unnamed with few surfers. Kahaluu near Kona is a great easy break and a good place to learn.

Location directions were perfect and easy to find. The host's son was there to greet and give me a tour of the grounds and facilities. I loved that the location was tucked away near a farm! Very relaxing atmosphere. Also an easy walk into town to visit galleries or a coffee shop. Definitely would stay again, love the Hawi area!

Andrea's farm is a great spot, you can tell she puts a lot of care into the farm and the living spaces surrounding it--we enjoyed visiting the farm, the workers were so friendly and my son really enjoyed the pigs and chickens; it was great having the experience of living in the wide open space of beautiful Hawi. Andrea was out of town during our stay, but still very helpful over the phone when questions came up! Thank you for the work you do, Andrea~blessings and prosperity to you!

Aloha! I was born and raised in New York, but have lived in Hawaii for 25 years. You could say that I am a real island girl, since I was born on Long Island, but now reside on Hawaii Island. Becoming the steward of such an amazing property is a dream come true for me.

I am a storyteller and social entrepreneur.

My company is Sustainable Initiatives—I work on projects which support the growth of a local, sustainable economy…with a sweet spot for growing the local food system. My projects include work with traditional crops (breadfruit and taro) and the fostering of our community food system in North Kohala.

My writing has been published in many Hawaii-based magazines and blogs. I am currently working on a collection of personal essays and developing myself as a performance artist.

I am known for my personal educational projects, having embarked upon a number of “eat local” experiments and then reported to the public on my experience.

Here are 9 of my favorite things:

1. Chanting: Paramahansa Yogananda says “Chanting is half the battle.” Its true. Devotional chanting is such an easy, joyful shortcut to meditation. I lead kirtans and enjoy going to other people’s kirtans.
2. Dancing: Sweat your prayers, ecstatic dance, a night out with the girlfriends, right in my own living room. Any dance is a good dance.
3. Chocolate: I just heard that smiling releases 2,000 times the amount of endorphins than chocolate. I smile when I eat chocolate, so…
4. Champagne/Proseco: (often enjoyed with chocolate) My grandmother used to listen to Don Ho when I was growing up. I think the subliminal message of tiny bubbles may have brought me to Hawaii and instilled a lifelong love of the bubbly.
5. Great Boots: There is nothing a girl can’t do when she is feeling powerful in her boots.
6. Being on Camera-video or photograph: When I am ing with someone, I don't even see them. I am too busy looking at myself in that little window. Why can’t they make that window bigger and minimize the other person?
7. Spending money: Money is no object. Actually it is, but I act like its not.
8. Luxurious hotels, resorts, homes, spas: But, I also enjoy camping, farm life and nature... and hopefully so do you, because that is how I live!
9. Reading: Set me up in a luxurious reading nook, give me a pile of good books and add some chocolate and champagne. What could be better?
