Our large 1br/1bath home is centrally located to Downtown LA/Silver Lake/Pasadena/Hollywood, but on a quiet street with a big yard, garden and patio - the best of both worlds! Lots of original details and hardwood floors, this is an Eastside gem!
This. House. Rocks. Also for the record - we are located in Frogtown and have green garden space, free street parking, large patio, all kitchen appliances, washer and dryer, large closets, high ceilings, charming built-ins, quirky details. This House Has All The Things.
House is approx 1400 square feet - 1 bedroom, 1 oddly large bathroom, a reading room/den, dining area, living room, roomy kitchen, breakfast nook (amazing), and a 10X15ish patio. Beautiful hardwood floors throughout, new tile in the kitchen and bathroom, high arched ceilings in the living room and den, dish washer, window AC units, washer and dryer, and original picture windows that bring amazing amounts of natural light (and open for a great afternoon breeze). Have I mentioned there's an original mid-century built in breakfast nook?
The property has beautiful and established fruit trees (fig, lemon, lime, nectarines, guavas, avocados and persimmons), as well as several garden boxes that we built when we moved in. There is a fence and a gate to close the driveway and create privacy from the street. There is ample yard space for outdoor lounging and BBQ-ing, along with a charcoal grill. We even have an outdoor fire space for those chilly LA nights!
The bedroom has an insanely comfortable Queen size bed and a new window AC unit, and the living room has a queen size pullout sofa-bed with a pillow top, as well (email hidden) - this house can sleep 4 adults or a family comfortably. There is a large closet and 3 dressers in the bedroom, as well as a coat closet for additional storage in the living room.
The kitchen is fully stocked with every tool, dish, pan, knife, plate and glass needed to prepare beautiful meals - also has a dishwasher, toaster oven, microwave, blender. The nook seats 4-5 in the diner-style booth, and the dining table has space for 8. The patio has a table that seats 4-6 comfortably outside.
We really love the proximity our house has to everything - at the end of our street is the LA River Bike Path (you can go from Glendale to Griffith Park to Downtown LA), we are .5 miles from Dodgers Stadium and Elysian Park, 1.5 miles from Sunset Junction, 1 mile from Atwater Village, 1 mile from the Silver Lake Reservoir, 5 mins to Echo Park Lake or Downtown LA, 10 mins to Hollywood or Pasadena, 15 to the Valley, 20 to Universal Studios, 30 mins to Santa Monica and the mighty Pacific Ocean! Conveniently located near the (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) freeways and can be on the 101 freeway in 10 mins. Our neighborhood backs up to the LA River basin, so all traffic is local on our street(URL HIDDEN)
Our neighbors are really wonderful, relaxed, friendly people - there are two houses on this lot but plenty of privacy. There are many families on the street, and our house is big enough for a family to stay comfortably.
Please feel free to email with questions, concerns, or more photos. We hope that our visitors will enjoy the vegetables, fruits, natural light and mid-century architecture that we enjoy so much!
The house is yours - all appliances, furniture, kitchenwares, pots/pans, cable/tv, washer/dryer. We will have our small office locked for personal items.
We are very proud of our garden and would love to share the watering/fresh produce with you during your stay - if you are not interested or experienced in tending to a garden, we can also make arrangements for that to be done during your stay.
We do not allow pets or smoking (sorry, very sensitive allergies). Our house is very family friendly (large open layout) and has only 3 steps at the front and back doors, so partially accessible for impaired walkers. Please treat our space as your own and always be in touch with questions or concerns.
I am an actor who LOVES living in LA! I am creative, work really hard, and take pride in my cute home :) I am going out of LA for the summer to complete a project for two months, and want to find someone trustworthy to share my home with while I am away!
I keep my house clean and quiet - it is my place of retreat in the busy city. I host dinner parties here on the patio and love that I am surrounded by NATURE!
I believe that things happen for a reason, that Bruce Springsteen is the only artist I could listen to every day and never grow tired of, and that people really just wanna all get along :)
