We are very sorry about your experience in our place, and, yes, unfortunately we had an issue with a NEIGHBOR and the smell that at the time being is being solved by the owners comunity of the building. We have been renting and working our place since (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) and we have had almost (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) bookings, not a single one of these bookings has had a behaiviour like this.
The pictures posted in the listing have been made by a photographer of Airbnb, even the lasts ones after the last refurbishing have been shooted by us with a celullar!!
I, personally did the check in and I spent almost one hour explaining tips about the city, everything run smoothly, as it was a very warm day, and american guests I switch on the air con, there was some smell coming from the stairs not the window.
The same day after long discussions with Emilie and Aribnb, and even knowing that the issue was no my responsability at all and that Airbnb was suporting not to refund any money, I accepted to refund 50% of the booking.
Emily has been trying to press me through (Hidden by Airbnb) messages to get all her money back, almost blackmailing with a very very bad review that could turn into a good one if she had her money back.
Maybe she is not used to the architecture of a very historical apartment that has even remains of roman walls in it! And of course has not the biggest windows in the world. It's a pity but I would not recommend Emilie as a host.
