Would you like a unique experience living on a boat? SMV Tricia is permanently moored in the Leros marina of Lakki Harbor -near town; be part of the sailing world, without sailing! Tricia is full of character an historic yacht built in 1938; unique and very "homey". It is a fascinating place to stay in an international ever-changing yachting community. The marina is convenient to shops and tavernas, 2 bicycles provide
d for wandering. Good swimming near by.
Our historical antique yacht Trica is moored in Leros Evros Marina, Lakki Bay, LEROS ISLAND, (NOT Agia harbor as shown on the Airbnb map!! ) she is our floating home on Leros! Come live like a sailor, Tricia is like a small apartment - but...she is a beautiful vintage 1938 converted fishing trawler built in Leith, Scotland.
Shopping and swimming are minutes away. Please read our whole description to make sure this is the place for you.
Leros is an authentic Greek island, easy to get around and explore, easy going people and limited tourism, why not try something very different for your next holiday in the sun? Leros is a bit out of the way, but worth the trouble to get there!
We have loving cared for Tricia since we acquired her in 2000. Tricia was built in Lieth, Scotland, sailed to Turkey about 35 years ago, and now remains moored in Leros. As we are building a 100% sustainable home on Leros, we live at the building site during the summer, so it is possible to rent Tricia. We are always nearby if you need anything.
Tricia has wonderful decks to lounge on, comfortable seating and pads, and shade covers. There is good swimming right by the marina, or a short bicycle ride away. Many nice tavernas, cafe's, shops and grocery shopping is available in Lakki, where the boat is docked.
For the hotter months, we have large fans to keep you cool.
You will have 2 bicycles to use while you are staying on Tricia.
It is possible to rent inexpensive motorcycles or quadbikes on the island as well as cars. There are many good restaurants in Lakki, Agia Marina, and Pandelli, the other seaside villages are a short drive away, on Leros nothing is more than 20 minutes by car!
The life in a marina is fascinating, with people from all over the world sailing in and out all summer. Walk the docks to see all of the wonderful boats docked in the marina.
The new shower and toilet facilities are very nice, and just a short 2 minute walk from the yacht. You will have full use of marina facilities, they are always open and there is no charge.
Tricia is comprised of a saloon-living room with a DVD player and sterio, galley -kitchen , master double bunk bedroom cabin and single forward berth. There is a toilet on board but we ask that you do NOT use it, (it is techincally "off limits", using it in the marina is forbidden) we provide a sailor's solution for...(liquid) emergencies only!
You can wash clothes on the boat or use the marina pay machine.
Tricia is like a small apartment, and very comfortable. Tricia has been our home for 17 years.
There is a lovely cafe overlooking the marina, 3 minutes away.
Please note, it IS hot, dry and somewhat dusty everywhere here in the summer.
A public bus makes the rounds of the island about once an hour, you can catch the bus just outside the marina. There are 3 other interesting villages on the island. Leros is 16 chilometers by about 5, a bit like a puzzle piece with many inlets and coves, many with seaside tavenas and great places for swimming and relaxing for the day. Leros is not a heavily touristed island, it could be described as "slow and discreet tourism", it is an authentic Greek Island, not a tourist trap.
Please write with any questions.
We are located in LAKKI, NOT AGIA MARINA.
PLEASE NOTE: The last review is not truthful. Furthermore they left the boat without even letting us know, and made no compliants until they had congured up a story to get their money back, AND sent us a BLACKMAIL email saying that if we gave them ALL their money back, they would not leave negative feedback. Airbnb...fell for it, lucky for them, not for us. The young girlfriend did not like the boat, they wanted to be with their friends, they "reported us" to Airbnb, took photos which "proved" we had not cleaned sufficiently, (we had done a lot of extra cleaning) and Airbnb took the bait, hook line and sinker. I have a right to have gotten angry, Airbnb believed this fradulent claim and gave them nearly ALL their money back, they are laughing all the way to the bank. The couple, while staying on Tricia, found something they liked better and found a dishonest way to get their money back. They gave us no chance to even check on the situation before they left the boat. Airbnb...can be hoodwinked and very unfair to their hosts. Don't believe everything you read and feel free to contact us. I have been with Airbnb for at least 8 years, I am really disappointed in this organization at this point. A single Airbnb "rep" can make a decision to take all your money back, no matter how long the guest has stayed.
