A peaceful annex to our lovingly-restored Victorian family home has been reimagined as a calm, stylish double bedroom. Enjoy a great night's sleep and wake up to a view of our beautiful garden from a quiet room separate from the main house. You'll also have your own bathroom, and breakfast-time access to our kitchen in a vibrant, safe neighbourhood.
We are an easy-going and friendly couple, who - along with our two young daughters - welcome you to stay in our period-charm-meets-modern-living detached Victorian house in the wonderful and vibrant south side of Glasgow. The house was built in 1862, and we are proud to have become a part of its unique and rich heritage, being only the fifth family to live here since it was built.
Your room has been freshly-renovated and features a super-comfortable double bed, towels and toiletries. It is equipped with desk space if you need to work, too.
Guests are treated to beautiful garden views from the comfortable, warm, secluded bedroom, and have sole use of our downstairs bathroom. You also have breakfast access to our large dining kitchen.
/ Your room is at the back of the house and is a cosy and quiet space.
/ You have your own bathroom next to the bed room (not en-suite).
/ We welcome you to use the kitchen facilities at breakfast time between 8.30-11AM (weekdays), and by booking a slot convenient for yourself at weekends.
/ Feel free to pop in throughout the day and evening to grab a drink or say hello.
/ In the kitchen, you are very welcome to tea, coffee and biscuits from your own guest cupboard, and a selection of cereals available for you to help yourself to in the morning. If you require bread or additional breakfast items, you will be able to pick these up at one of the many shops located nearby.
/ Upstairs is our family space, and we kindly request that you respect that this floor is off-limits to guests.
/ We do not offer access to the kitchen for cooking. If you are staying with us for a number of weeks however, this can be discussed.

You will be met on arrival and given as much or as little help in settling in as you need. There is a welcome pack in your room with information about the house and neighbourhood. We will be delighted to give you some more information about the local area and beyond, and will be on-hand throughout your stay if you need us.
As your room is an annex to our house, we will no doubt see you in passing throughout your stay, but rest assured that you will be far removed from the hussle, bustle and noise of a young family in your part of the house.
We'll do what we can to offer a flexible check-in time, but kindly request that you stay with us on the understanding that we have a young family. As such, we cannot check guests in after 10pm, and check-ins on Saturday and Sunday are less flexible as we are usually out and about for most of the day. If we have guests checking out on the morning of your own arrival, check-in is from 3PM onwards. We welcome guests to stay with us who are in the city for all sorts of reasons, but suggest that our listing may not be a great fit for you if you're coming to Glasgow to party.
In the winter months certain areas of the house can be less cosy than your room so best to bring a pair of slippers with you! The central heating is on a timer to come on late afternoon until late in the evening, and there is a small electric heater in the room to give a quick blast if the heating isn't on. Being a large house we can't have the heating on 24/7 for both environmental and financial reasons!
While separate from the main house, your space is still a part of our family home. As we have two small people, we kindly request that you do not smoke inside the property. Our cat, Ivo (while amenable) is best left alone! As mentioned elsewhere in the listing, we can be flexible with check-in time, but ask that it be before 10pm.
Access to the kitchen is at breakfast time only (8.30-11.30am). We do not offer cooking facilities.
This is an eco listing, and we really welcome guests who are keen to travel in a way that lessens their impact upon the environment.
As the seasons change and it becomes a little chillier in the evenings, you may wish to bring some indoor shoes to wear when moving around the house. We welcome guests coming to the city for all sorts of reasons, but suggest our listing may not be a good fit for you if you're in town to party.

Hi! I'm from Glasgow, Scotland. I'm a part-time high school English teacher and when I'm not at work, I can mostly be found at home with my two young daughters baking or cooking in the kitchen or hanging out with our pet cat, Ivo in the garden.
I'm married to Steven and when we get a chance we love to take advantage of Glasgow's diverse cultural landscape; enjoying literary and arts festivals throughout the year.
I'm a founding member of Glasgow's first Women's Institute - a modern branch of the traditional women's social group. We meet monthly for tea, cake and healthy discussion on anything from meditation to women's economics. We have over 200 members and that number is growing all the time.
Having travelled within Europe and to the USA staying in airbnb properties, I can attest to the simplicity of arranging accommodation in this way. My experiences as a guest have been excellent, and inform my own personal approach to hosting: "There, but not 'there'", if you know what I mean!
