A double room on the upper floor of a beautiful period building. The room has a double bed, with a private bathroom. The bathroom has a shower and wc, with walls in dramatic black tadelekt, a traditional plaster finish used in the hammams.
Dar Rbab is a 300 year old house in the heart of the walled medina of Fes. This room is named after the rooms main light, an amazing glazed red Moroccan lantern in the shape of a star.
The room has a double bed, with a private en suite bathroom up a flight of steps; like most steps in Fes and Dar Rbab, they're steep. People must have been more agile years ago.
You're on the upper floor of an a beautiful old house, originally our family home. We now run a family restaurant from the ground floor.
The house is in the region of 300 years old, and has all the features associated with historic houses in Fes. The centre of the two storey building is a courtyard, with pillars supporting balconies at the first floor. Access to all the principal rooms is by massive sets of cedarwood double doors, elaborately decorated and gilded on their inner sides.
Dar Rbab is emphatically not a hotel; when we are in Fes it is our family home, and when we are away the property is run by S'Mohamed and our housekeeper. Families with children are welcome.
We part own a Moroccan Tourist Transport company and are happy to provide quotes to take you on into the Atlas, the Sahara, the Rif, Marrakech and Essaouira. Rates start at 120 euros per day for an air conditioned 4x4/SUV, fuel, and an English speaking driver/guide.
Courtyard, salon, private bathroom, free wifi.

S'Mohamed, our house manager, is on hand to help with meals, guides, day trips, porters, and any other questions you may have.
We try not to make any rules... but we would prefer it if you didn't smoke in the bedrooms.
Please note that while everything from a banquet to a snack is available, and breakfast is included, the kitchen is not available for guests use.
As the house surrounds a courtyard, please respect other guests need to sleep and avoid loud noise late at night. If you have the house to yourself and there are no other guests or family there, party as late as you like.

I've been in Morocco since 1999. I run a small specialist travel agency that regularly leads trips through the Sahara to Marrakech, Mezzanine bar and restaurant in the Fes Medina, and Kasbah Timdaf, in the foothills of the Atlas near Ouzoud.
I'm British, and speak English, French and the local Arabic dialect.
I adore travel, food, and culture.
Dar Rbab was my home and I hope my guests enjoy this beautiful old house as much as I do.
