Our turn-of-the-century, two-story farm house sits on a hill with expansive views of Tripod, Roundtop, and Baxter Mountains-and not another home in sight. We have 17 beautiful wooded acres with marked trails, and a meditation platform overlooking one of the streams. Our flagstone patio has a fire pit, picnic table, and gas grill, all nestled amongst apples trees and an organic garden. A swimming hole fed by a natural spring is just a short walk down the hill. Our forty-foot-long front porch is graced with 2 hammocks and authentic Adirondack furniture.
We have put our love and creative energy into making our home a true treasure for all to enjoy. It is comfortable, airy, and sunlit, with windows in every room. The interior boasts an Adirondack camp style living room, sun filled dining room, and a fully stocked kitchen with a gas range, large hotel sink and dishwasher. The well-appointed bathroom has antique tub, sink and fixtures.
The cozy upstairs houses three bedrooms, two with full-sized beds, and one with 2 twin beds. An air mattress is available to create a sleeping nook in the upstairs library. The basement is equipped with a washer and dryer. Linens, towels and other everyday items are provided. The house has a cell booster to aid in cell service, and a flatscreen TV and DVD player. Guidebooks are in our library to help plan your hikes, and you'll find trails right across the road!
Our house is located in the High Peaks region of the Adirondacks. It is 5.4 miles from Keene Valley, where you can find internet service at the library, shop at the local grocery store, and enjoy several local restaurants. A larger grocery store is just 8.6 miles away in Elizabethtown, and Lake Placid is a quick 18-mile trip, with tons of shopping and restaurants. Whiteface Mountain is 24 miles away.
