Located just blocks between the hip Mississippi Neighborhood and historical Peninsula Park with public transit around the corner this roomy recently remodeled home comfortably sleeps four.
From the moment you walk through the front door, you are ready to take off your shoes, relax, and enjoy this light-filled, open concept Cabin in the Sky. We designed our top floor cabin wanting to integrate the feel of the natural environment. This cozy Cabin in the Sky feels like your grandfathers’ cabin in the woods just got a touch up and dropped into this beautiful city known for the food, the outdoors and our friendly neighborhoods.
The two bedrooms have cloudscape views from the queen beds. With a memory foam mattress, 1000 thread count sheets and re-purposed natural wood accents the master bedroom will leave you staying in bed long after the alarm goes off. The second bedroom, welcoming and warm is decorated with photography from one of the last remaining family owned cattle ranches of the west. The bedroom has custom made bedside tables, a comfy mattress that provides strong support for those who like a firm sleep and 500 thread count sheets.
Each bedroom comes with its own closet and dresser. The doors are custom hung as sliding barn doors providing a rustic yet modern feel. You will notice the rich beauty of their dark wood. Originally these unique doors provided life to a popular hotel in Cabo San Lucas called the Twin Dolphin. When the hotel was torn down a Portland man grabbed them up and brought them home where they stayed gathering dust for 25 years in his basement. We found them at a salvage store and now they give new life to our Cabin in the Sky.
The living, dining, and kitchen areas open up to one another and are tied together by the natural accents of beautiful wood. To bring in the comforts of a cabin we build an accent wall of reclaimed wood that ties in the hand cut live edge wood beams and the Brazilian maple flooring. The kitchen has cherry wood cabinets, butcher-block counter tops, and a handmade dining table made from reclaimed wood.
The kitchen comes fully equipped with new energy efficient appliances and cooking essentials so you’ll be ready to host that dinner party. We’ll leave a few starters for you including coffee from our corner coffee shop, Red E Café, teas from local tea maker Stash Tea, plus a few treats from the baker down the road.
In our design we strove to find the balance between having the modern comforts of today with a balance of simplicity. Full of natural light this Cabin in the Sky provides the perfect place to come home and relax after a long day of play or work in Portland. Come stay with us, we’ve traveled all over the world and know what it means to have comfort when traveling. We think you’ll find what you need at the Cabin in the Sky, but no matter where you stay, we hope you enjoy Portland.
The private top floor Cabin in the Sky has its own front door plus access to the garden areas as well as w/d access. The garden areas include a fenced in backyard dining area, a sitting nook and the front has a nice porch to relax, watch the neighbor and enjoy the many flowers out front.

HOSTING/TRAVEL: I search to find those who point me in a safe direction and allow me to create my own adventure. I strive to do the same for others.
LIFE MOTTO: While I don't live by one motto I do keep close the following advice I've been lucky to receive...
1. Life is always grey - don't live in the black and white..
2. Being compassionate, generous and open will move the world in wondrous ways.
3. Rules are meant to be blurred.
4. Keep your word. Authenticity is a rare and valued quality. Get it and keep it.
5. Wear horizontal stripes and crazy socks. A natural mood elevator, they make people smile.
There are so many more but these come to mind.
