This cool loft style apartment is truly unique. Housed within a traditional Victorian sandstone tenement, its open plan aspect makes it one of Glasgow's architectural secrets in the heart of the west end. Recently lovingly refurbished and freshly furnished. Close by are artisanal coffee shops, bakeries, parks, university and subway.
This unique apartment's open plan aspect was formerly the office of Gillespie, Kidd and Coia, one of Scotland's foremost Post-War modernist architectural practices, and subsequently home to several internationally renowned artists before becoming our family home ten years ago. Since then we have refreshed and updated it to stylish, comfortable standards.
The spacious 700 square foot living area includes lounge and dining spaces with an elegant rosewood dining table that seats up to 8. The lounge space also has a brand new double sofa bed. The bespoke tomato red and oak-panelled kitchen (an artist/architect collaboration) has a built-in booth area which can snugly fit 5 for cosy mealtimes.
The double bedroom has fitted wardrobes an en suite w.c and wet room. The twin bedroom can accommodate kids or beds can equally double up. All beds are new (May 2014) and travel cot and toys are available if required. Both bedrooms are situated to the back of the apartment overlooking the quiet backcourt (Up to date image of this 2nd bedroom to follow)
Main bathroom though compact is perfectly formed and has a lovely deep bath.
Also available is a lovely wee decked area and garden. A bit of a sun trap and very private from the street, this modest little 'outside room' has a picnic table and bench and a secret sunken sandpit. Many happy summer days have been spent eating al fresco while the little folk frolic in the sand...
