Hi Brian, thank you for your feed back and suggestions for improvement. I appreciate any and all suggestions to improve the experience for my guests. In an effort to be fair, I would like to address the issues you stated in your review.
First, as far as missing soap, I apologize. I was unaware that when restocking all other amenities and bottled water for you in the bathroom, I had missed the bar soap. I did ask multiple times if you needed anything and to please let me know if you required something. I was home and available both evenings and this was never brought to my attention. I would have gladly provided the soap if you had simply alerted me that it was missing.
Regarding the new towels purchased for the bathroom, this was a new brand for me and I did wash them all before putting them in the guest bath. However, they apparently require more than one washing to remove the lint that is normally found on new towels. I have now washed all towels again and will be testing these to insure the problem does not persist. Thank you for alerting me that this was an issue.
As far as the lock on the bedroom, this has never been requested before as this is a private rental and the space is not ever shared with anyone else. In addition, I do not allow visitors to my home access to the private area upstairs. I will be adding a locking door for future guests.
Regarding the second evening and the door knob being locked, I did apologize as soon as I opened the door and stated that I was unaware the bottom knob was locked. It is my habit to lock both locks on my door in the evening when I am home. I was outside in my courtyard and garage and was unaware that you had arrived. Once you called, I immediately unlocked the door. You and your wife appeared tired after a long day and I felt that I should get out if your way and allow you to head upstairs to bed.
My comfort for my guests is my highest concern and I am committed to responding quickly and addressing any issues immediately. I want all my guests to enjoy their stay with me. Please allow me to make things right for you by refunding you for one nights stay. Please look for the refund to post from AirBNB’s website.
