Abbeysgate is located 16 miles from downtown State College, Pa - home to a major research university. Our property - 14 acres in all, is beautifully landscaped and provides fantastic views of the Allegheny Front. The one story Craftsman home was architecturally designed to take advantage of the view and bring the outside in. We take pride in offering guests fantastic food - most of it fresh from our garden and prepared by two seasoned chefs. Our area is well known for its access to biking, hiking, fly fishing - not to mention various cultural, sports and community activities endemic to the dynamic environment of a university town. We take pride in the service we provide our guests and always surprise. We have access to internet and cable TV. Parking is within 30 feet of the front door. The family suite has a private bedroom with a queen size bed, a large living room area with a double futon and a twin size bed. Those choosing to reside in the family suite share a large bathroom. Abbeysgate family members are warm, hospitable, discreet and willing to assist our guests in any way.
Guests can sit or walk outside, weather permitting, in any of the areas surrounding the property. Guests are welcome to avail themselves of inside sitting areas to relax and chat.

Georgia and Kevin Abbey have lived in Central Pennsylvania since 1984. They love living surrounded by the scenic Alleghenies and the mountain valleys and streams. Kevin is the land conservation manager for the local conservancy. Georgia is the executive director of a non profit. They spend spring and early summer weekends readying the gardens. They love to spend time with their grandkids who live nearby. Originally from Michigan, they still go back every year to get their "water" fix. They have traveled extensively, most recently - Spain. They routinely visit Utah to hike in and near Zion.
