Our farmhouse Laxfoss is nice and cozy though all the furniture is old, it's comfortable. We have been renovating it for some years and will continue to do so. Some of the windows now have double glazing and renewed doors. Hot tub and trampoline.
This cozy old farmhouse, Laxfoss that is being renovated as a holiday home is in the Icelandic countryside. Built in 1927 of wood with corrugated iron siding and roof. Two sides have been renewed and two haven't, so the house looks different from where you view it corrugated iron on one side yellow painted wood on three.
Personal home with wood stove and sundeck.
6 person Hot-tub from Softub (URL HIDDEN)
Flat-screen TV and DVD
Fridge with freezer

Living room is rustic with some panels painted others not. Kitchen is old fashioned. Bathroom has shower stall, running water is electrically heated, so it's limited. Bedrooms are up very steep stairs and partly under slanted roof.

The old farmhouse at Laxfoss.
Ground floor entrance is through the kitchen, with steep stairs to upper floor. "Please note that the stairs are so steep you must descend them sideways". Not suitable for the elderly or small children without guidance. The kitchen has electric stove with oven, microwave, fridge and sink with running cold and hot water (heated with electricity) and dishwasher.
Also on the ground floor is the living-room with dining area, flat-screen TV and DVD player next to wood-burning stove and a bathroom with shower. Doors from living-room open onto sundeck. Complete with wooden garden furniture and Landman gas barbeque. Hot tub is on sundeck (URL HIDDEN) and there is a trampoline in the garden.
Upstairs there are four bedrooms, only three available for guests. Master bedroom has twin beds plus low bed on floor for children. 2nd bedroom has twin beds and 3rd bedroom has queen sized bed. (Forth bedroom has single bed but is very small and entrance is through master-bedroom and not included in rent, there we store our personal belongings.) So all in all the house can sleep 8, but we only recommend 6-7 persons.
All rooms have free standing electric radiators that are oil-filled.
