The guests left the place incredibly clean, we were very thankful for that. Our neighbors spend a lot of time on their porch and in conversation about how Airbnb was going, (they are always curious and are considering doing the same), they had mentioned there were more people than what we had stated in our conversation the reservation being for. We asked the guests if there were more people staying and they assured us there were not, only visitors for short times and so we took their word for it. It must have been a misunderstanding and we regret asking them although we felt we had to as we trust our neighbors. The neighbors DO NOT, "look into the home". We know the neighbors personally and they would never do this.
The neighborhood is safe, asking for cash or change should not tell you the neighborhood is unsafe, (in our opinion), this happens often in most any urban setting especially near downtown.
The items mentioned that were missing are still missing, we are not sure what happened to them but we have since purchased replacements for them. If they show up we will be more than happy to issue a refund. The guests also broke a chair and sent pictures of it stating it broke just from "moving it", and that they did not use it. After seeing the chair in person it was obvious it was not from moving it. The guests willingly paid for the chair replacement cost which we really appreciated.
